I got into a HUGE argument one year ago with a cashier who did not understand the "one coupon per purchase" verbiage. And then the CSM defended her and refused to let me use all of my coupons in one transaction.
I have not stepped foot inside that Walmart since that day. It is a shame because it is just a few minutes' drive for me. Instead, I drive 15-20 minutes to visit 3 other Walmarts if I need to price match or if the deal is worth the potential head ache.
I made phone calls up the corporate ladder and it ended with a phone call from the CSM a few days after the incident. Now--the CSM on the phone shared her name with me and said she was not there during the incident, but...*I* *SAW* *HER* *NAMETAG*. LOL I was on the phone with the exact woman I was arguing with.
And instead of saying, "You were right, I'm sorry!" I got a song and dance about how the coupons were denied because I wasn't buying the correct product. That was an outright lie. I was buying exactly what the coupon stated. I even called her on it and said, "Not a SINGLE cashier or CSM mentioned my coupons could not be accepted because I wasn't purchasing the correct items. That issue did not even COME UP FOR DISCUSSION while I was in the store, trying to complete my transaction."
Purely speculation on my part, but I feel as though she probably had her butt handed to her by senior management and had to invent a reason why I was the guilty one instead of admitting she, as a CSM, was just plain ignorant on coupon usage. I won't go back in there, after being outright accused of fraud. Pity for them--I redeem a LOT of coupons.
