HOT Need help dealing with an urgent Walmart issue

In 2 years of couponing I have NEVER EVER had an issue at my local Walmart. Last night I went in with 64 knox coupons. Its a lot but I have used more than that in one transaction. I went to the same cashier I always go too (my mistake) because she's usually friendly and has no problem with me using coupons. Last night she had a major bug up her butt. She called over her manager and said "Im not doing all these coupons" Her manager takes the coupon and said well we can't do these anyways.

Then the dance began....

So I asked for the store manager. 40 minutes later, she says that the coupons are only for joint products. I explain to her that you go by the wording not the picture, that companies can't put a picture of every product on a coupon, and that it clearly states ANY. I then asked if they changed thier coupon policy in the last week. No, she says. So tell me, why has it been more than fine every other time but this time? Because we don't get paid for those, Yes you do I say. She argued and argued with me. Meanwhile I stayed calm and to the point. She told me she would call me in the morning. So that whole thing caused us to miss our bus and we had to pay $10 for a taxi, which would have been beyond fine, if we had our stuff.

This morning she calls me and tells me that they will only give me $1.24 off. I again calmly explain to her that would be coupon fraud because knox would give them $4. There was no place to mark $1.24. She said oh well, thats what we are offering. I said okay that's fine, I will be returning everything that I have boughten there within the last 60 days (over $4,000 retail value). That's well within your rights. CLICK

So I paid a crap load of money for these coupons ($60), I have 80 of them. What in the world should I do? Go over her head and keep fighting? Go to another Walmart which is so much further away and if they give me a hard time I will be out of even more transportation money, try another store (who else will give me overage???) or return everything and never shop at Walmart again?

Thanks!

There is no way I would ever have tried to use that many coupons at once, no matter how coupon friendly the store is. Even though we all know it isn't, using that many of the same coupon at once LOOKS fraudulent to the people at Walmart.

If I were you I'd split that up in to different trips and definitely pick a different cashier.

Are you actually going to follow up with your threat to return everything you bought in the last 60 days? That will ruin any chances you have at that store and send up a HUGE red flag to LP.

I think you are being unreasonable all around. But kudos for keeping your cool. You are a better person than me.

In what way is wanting to return everything that I have boughten being unreasonable? They want to deny me the right to use a perfectly legit coupon. To me that's like them telling me that they don't want my business. That's their right and their choice but if that's the choice that they make, then I am giving my money and my coupons to someone that actually wants it.

What would you do? I'm being serious, before I do do anything I would love to know what would be the best way to handle this.

64 coupons?!?! holy cow .. so much for staying under the radar.

Can you try a different Walmart? Maybe this time only using a few at a time?

As for returning your other items you have purchased? Is that really worth your time to do so?

I would chalk this up to a learning experience and move on .. JMHO

unfortunately this coupon has caused A LOT of discussion on this board. There are many people that have been able to use them successfully and others have not. I was unable to use the coupons at my Walmart and my local store .. I traded mine ..

I believe if you had broken up your order in multiple transactions, you wouldn't have had this problem .. Using 64 of the same coupon is crazy ..

I will try a different Walmart today. How many would you suggest using at a time?

If they don't want to honor my coupons, then it is worth my time to return everything. No, I don't want too, but should I really accept being treated like this?

I'm sorry, but your mistake was trying to take more than 60 overage coupons ANYWHERE in one transaction, let alone Walmart. That's not exactly flying under the radar.

if it were me, I would only use 5 or 6 .. I try not to call attention to myself when I have a hot coupon that will give me overage.

Like I said, I don't think think you would have been treated this way if you didn't try to use so many.

If you want to beat your head against a brick wall, go ahead. If you try to fight Walmart, you will end up having a huge hissy and getting precisely nowhere.

I would use NO MORE than 5-10 at a time with that kind of overage.

Completely understand that now. I wouldn't have done it unless they weren't so coupon friendly in the past.
