Thumbs Up WALMART ~ Walmart's One Per Purchase vs My one per purchase

Okay, I know you all have stood waiting while the cashier started reading a coupon after the 3rd alike coupon (first 2 was ok, but that 3rd one triggered a light bulb, right?!), then say I don't think I can take this because its one per purchase....yada yada. Well, twice within 2 days apart Walmart cashier held me up for 10 mins of "my time" or better while getting an okay to take all coupons...not to mention both times I had items to ring up wrong trying to overcharge me which was more added time. When the overcharge was brought it to the cashiers attention the response was, "Do you want me take it off?", LOL ...Not only do I want you to take it off, I want to be charged the correct price...response "Well, I will have to get a price check" (not going there!). Anyway..........after spending approx. 20 mins the first time and over 30 mins the second time to buy 10 or less items each time, instead of getting upset and complaining which never does any good, I decided and done this..........

Yeah, yeah, I gave into ignorance of one per purchase. Walmart seems to have their own dictionary of what "one coupon" & "purchase" means! Soooo, I had some spare time last night and decided to have a fun adventure on my time. I went to Walmart last night purchased bananas, apples, hasbro card games, surf, and 4 boxes of crackers (variety), dog bed & 2 red bows. I put my items on the belt in this order first to scan...surf, surf, surf, cracker, cracker, cracker, cracker, game & game, banana, banana, banana, banana, banana, banana, apple, apple, apple, apple (in individual bags of course!), red bow, red bow & dog bed (following me? lol). The cashier proceeded and I quickly stopped her and said, one per purchase & go ahead and get a price check on the surf, it rings up higher than the shelf tag overcharging customers... I will wait...looked at those behind me and said "This line is going to take 30 minutes or better due to Walmart wanting to overcharge their customers, you may want to find another line". Long story short......it was a hoot (especially the individual banana's, apples and bow that were couponless [new word, btw lol]) and I followed policy, but it was on my time...not theirs! Honestly, it felt good....No more than I shop at Walmart, I may just continue to shop like this at Walmart (even with clothing, crafts, school supplies, etc)...went smoother for me thats for sure & you definitely know if you are being overcharged and if your coupons actually get applied (or scanned by the cashier). I think I have stumbled onto something here .

You need to call the store manager and go during the day and show him your new method.
LOL, I think you will be escorted to a new register every time.

    Gotta play by their rules.
I have trouble standing while these stores waste my time with the 1 per purchase and getting my coupons approved.
Time is a big deal to me.

LOL @ calling store manager........let me tell about that....

Forgot to mention that in my OP! I asked for the store manager on the last of the 2 days where I waited 30 mins , no show after 10 more mins of waiting! I went to my car and called 2 times , waited over 5 mins the first time then 7 mins the second time - never came to phone...I did not add that to "my time" of which was wasted in the store! Adding that it was approx. 52 mins to buy less than 10 items!!!!!!! No freakin way and if getting escorted to my own register gets me out faster than that.....bring it on, I can only hope!

I really hope there is no misunderstanding as to why I done this. Now, it was a combination of things as to why I done one per purchase....to avoid and question when using coupons & to be sure they applied AND to make sure the item rang up properly. I am sorry, but its my money and my rules when I am being overcharged. I have a choice and it seems my choice worked much better with me at this store. Let me say, I have never had problems at my other Walmart and I truly think thats because they are properly trained & this one is poorly trained...can't even get a manager....come on!

Now, when the cashier clearly scans the coupon(s) THEN READS IT...that is not WALMART RULES or POLICY in which it inconvienced me, while she had a pow-wow at CS desk for 10 mins. If cashier had of read the coupon prior to scanning them and not waiting until the last one and said it was only one per purchase and that she had to take the others off the order and do them seperately...then I would have understood rules/policy and welcomed it. But this is not what happened, sorry I did not make myself clear in my OP. The thing is, the cashier both times (different cashiers btw) inconvienced me by not following rules/policy and if they had of, then I would not have stood at register twiddling my thumbs while they had their pow-wow on my time...instead we could have been ringing up the items seperately and moving on much quicker. That added on the incorrect price was just silly.

just want to say YAY!!!!! to you!!!!

When I go to walmart...Before anybody starts ringing...I always say to them...I have these products and I have these coupons for them...can we do this all on one order or do we need to ring things up seperatly. ( I never buy just one of anything so this includes using like 10 of the same coupon) and I normally get to ring it all up in one order. BUT if they say NO ...well then... I look too anybody behind me and say...you might want to change lanes because this is gonna take awhile. And I do 10 different orders if I have to.

I do not like to be like that but when I need to be I am. Last x-mas I had a awful time with rite-aid and their BOGO sale + using a BOGO coupon on their covergirl. OHHH i got my stuff...because I had THEIR policy in hand AND a email directed to me asking if I could use the coupon. BUT i still had to argue and what not....I have not stepped into a Rite-aid since then. I was so appalled at the way I was treated and the fact that they were not following their own rules. BUT YET let me make a mistake and they tell me I am trying to steal from them.
But anyways I think you gotta do what you gotta do...

    Go for it!

I have also done that. If I know ahead of time that I will have problems, I plan accordingly.
And if the cashier(or store or manager, etc) REALLY wants to be a ........ well, don't push me too far, because I can have a lot of fun making sure that the store policy is followed to the letter by me AND the cashier.

I play by the rules - and I will make certain they do as well.

I agree with everyone so far. My time is valuable and I can not stand for long periods of time. Especially for a cashier to find a manager when my coupons scanned. I hate those situations for items not found too.

IMO, That's what those radios are for. The cashier shouldn't be walking around away from the registers. There is no excuse for management to take 10 to 20 minutes to come to the front. I have had that happen too.

In fact I got so mad over the airwick imotion q's that I emailed corp. A manager called me the next day and offered me a gc for my trouble just to come back in the store.

I went in with proof that the csm was lazy and being difficult.
My coupons scanned and the csm was making up rules and claimed to be the only manager in the store. He didn't want to put in the override key.
Said I could only use so many coupons in my order.
It was a stupid amt too. Not half, not all, and not 1 coupon.

I showed Mr Real manager where the coupon scanned on the crt and showed the coded numbers to prove it wasn't an override situation.

I walked out with $40 cash.

    First time that has happened.

So I say - you go girl!

I haven't had to do that in a long time. Last time I recall was a P&G coupon good on the trial size Old Spice body wash. I traded generously for them. Ended up with almost 300. Used them 30 at a time. I had one CSM that swore it was one coupon per item per order. Needless to say I said fine. I hope she had to explain why she had not one free transaction, but 30 of them (I insisted the cashier ring them in at .99 not the full dollar since she hadn't caused the problem, the CSM had when she saw my little bottle pile). I just stood there and laughed.

I think she got fired or transferred when they did their remod. Too bad, she was fun to drive nuts.

Went back today and got 3 more Surf's....put all 3 on the belt with the 3 coupons and said... "This is what I have and I don't have much time & the Surf is lower than its ringing up." LOL, cashier adjusted price and took all the coupons in one transaction...easy cheesy....super quick! Now...must be the shift or cashier(s)????

Wow, let me brag again!!!!! When we went shopping last Wed. I bought 10 of one item and 5 of another it and 4 of another item plus many many single items. I had 10 coupons for the ten items, 5 coupons for the 5 items and 4 coupons for the 4 items plus 32 more coupons for some of the other stuff we bought. The only problem I had--oh wait--no problem. In fact the cashier, who saw all my coupons, turned on her CSM signal and the CSM was therre before we were done. Boy, do I love my Walmart.

Boy I hate them! Went there today to get some glade since my target is all out (big surprise! they've been out since the deal started, dont think they ever had any to start with). Anywho, I split up my transactions as to avoid having a csm called for the 40 q/$50 limit. First tranny I have tins, refills, and plugins. Takes all my q's except for 2 of the 3 plugin bogos?? Dont know why? Cashier wouldnt put them thru but did manually put thru 3 $1/1 q's for the 3 I was buying. Told him just take em off. Bought 6 tins and my $2/1s went thru just fine.
    Tranny #2- 6 tins, 9 refills
Gave him 6 2/1 holders, 6 buy holder get refill, and 3 buy 2 refills get 1 free
He does the bogos first then we get down to the 2/1-wont ring up. says item not found?? ok we just did 6 and they went just fine. He says dont think thats the right thing, not whats in the pic.
What does it say? He replies any holder. I say what does this say (refering to the label on the tin) Tin Holder he says. ok??? Well let me call a csm just to make sure. She comes over-not the right thing. Um, yes. We go thru wording again. When I bust that bubble, well its not going thru cause it says 1 per purchase. And here we go! I say yes. Everything here is a purchase and I can use 1 coupon per item, not 2. No thats a transaction. HA. I whip out my receipt from the TRANSACTION that I just did. I say I just used 6 and they went just fine. Well it shouldnt have only 1 per order. REALLY???? I say what is this barcode and number on the bottom of my receipt? Oh thats the TRANSACTION number. EXACTLY!!!! This entire order is my transaction. I even whip out another q that says specifically 1 per transation. Oh no then she tells me its walmarts policy to only take 1 per tranny. Are you kidding. Then she tells me hold on (she had already asked someone else) that the someone else she talked to said hold on, they may change their mind. WHAT!!! So she comes over and we go thru the entire thing again, she tells me 1 per tranny. No not right! So she goes to the "cash office" comes back and says they say 1 per tranny. WTF ever!!! I hate that place, at any given time you can walk in and ask 10 diff ppl a ? and get 10 diff answers. WHY CANT THEY GET ON THE SAME PAGE? AND THE RIGHT ONE AT THAT? I say what ever take em off I'll just call corp!
Has anyone ever gotten anything from them reguarding their definition of purchase/tranny? Anything other than the usual standard crap that is found on their website that those in the store can argue with???
