Default WalMart ~ Black Friday 2009 ~ price match

Does walmart price match on bf? Last year I was all ready with my price matches and was told that BF was the only day they don't do that. I later heard from ppl that they got pms at walmart but had went to different ones than I went to. So, anyone know the policy so I am prepared this year. Thanks

Default Question about price matching on bf

There are a few things I wanted at differant stores im wating to see whats on sale there. Will walmart only price match duing the times that the sales are at the other stores. Like sears is 4 am to noon (start time may be differant) so does that mean walmart will only price match to noon or will they do it all day. I wanted something at sears and something at kmart but would prefer to only have to go to one store that day and walmart are the only ones I know that price match.

I'm not sure what the offical WM policy is regarding pricematching the doorbuster or early bird specials for BF ads.

Last year when I went with my brother to WM, they kept announcing it over the loudspeaker no pricematching doorbusters, but when we checked out, the ppl at the next register were PM an ad, several things were doorbuster. My brother asked and cashier said they are not supposed to but if the customer pitches enough of a fit, the manager will override!!

Last year they let me price match a DVD that was in the toys r us ad. But, it was only a $4.99 item. I'm not sure what they would say about a big ticket item. I think, in my store, if you were trying to price match at a time when the price was valid (at the other store) they would let you PM. So, if it ended at noon at kmart, and you tried to PM at walmart at 2pm, they would not let you.

I price match at my Walmart all the time. On Black Friday, they only honor the competitor's ad during the times the competitor honors those prices. They also only honor the add for identical items that are a posted sale price (no bogo's or percent off).

Since the super centers are pretty much dead at the registers before they start their own sale, they will sometimes go ahead and let you check out price match items and take them to your car and then come back in for the walmart sale.

I like to go to my super center about 1 1/2 hours before they start their sale. I use the time to grab all the dvd's and other items that I want them to price match and it's also a good way to find out where the pallets are for the items you want.

One year, I didn't get there way ahead of time and had to check out my walmart doorbusters first then go back inside. This worked to my advantage because I found several doorbuster things that I wanted but wasn't first in line to get. In my hunt for the things I wanted them to price match I found good things strewn and hidden from one end of the store to the other!

Also, don't forget that most walmarts have checkouts in the electronics, sporting goods and jewelry departments. It's an excellent way to beat the long lines!

I price matched at our walmart last year too. Of course I went mid-morning instead of at the crazy rush time but they did price match with no problem.

I emailed Walmart asking if they price matched on Black Friday.

They said "Yes, we price match". (But didn't specify Black Friday)
I'll carry that with me to Walmart on Black Friday, just incase they give me any trouble.

    Good luck!

There's an article on CNN Money today about Walmart's BF ad. In the article the spokesperson for Walmart clearly says they will price match any print ad for any local competitor and I quote:

"Raddohl also said Wal-Mart will match the price of any local competitor's printed ad for an identical product"
