WALMART - Clearance Thread ~ 2009 - 2010

Tried posting this last night... but my internet kept shutting off.

Anyway- The springy colored stuff that has been on endcaps in housewares (should have been at most stores) has been marked down already. And it was a homeoffice markdowns, meaning it should be marked down at all store.
Here are some of the prices:
Throws: $2 orig $7
Comforters- $8
Bedding set- $15
Small bathroom trashcan with lid- $2
Curtains- $2
3 drawer storage units- $3
set of 2 bathroom rugs- $4

Also, in the Statesboro Walmart they were marking down clothes dirt cheap. Most of them are probably gone by now, but they had TONS of PJ pants for $3. They were on tall rolling racks in the middle of action alley btwn lingerie and men's wear and also some up at the front of women's wear. There were also some on the normal racks spread throughout the dept. I got mom 3 scrub tops for $5 each and two polo shirts for $1.

Right now most OTC pharm. areas are redoing the pad and tampon aisle. When I was doing price changes today, most of the discontinued pads and tampons were marked down to btwn $1-$2. Too bad my store didn't have any of them left, but if you have a less busy store, they might still have some on hand.

twizzlers (multi flavors) 50c a pack
Baby socks (10pk) $1.50~ lots of different kinds to pick from

I lucked up today... one of the few advantages to working in the store.

I got several double pack of Olay (facewash & facelotion) for $3. (orig 10)
double pack of Olay Quench - $3 (orig 10)
Old Spice Deodorant 3 pack - $2 (orig 6)
Lots of various thread and trimmings .10-.50 each
Post It notes 6pk- .50 each
Pack of 40 different kinds of ribbon- $5 (orig 20)
Several different decorative office supply things- .50-1.50 (orig $3-$6)

I'm sure the store will continue marking stuff down until its all gone. Most of the clearance is at least 75% off now. Some more than that.

So if anyone is near the Statesboro store, I'd recommend checking it out.

I was in yesterday and in the Mexican cooking aisle of the grocery section, those packs of spices and corn husks and peppers etc were all on clearance. I never really looked there much before, just noticed the red tags and found a packet of ground cumin for 74cents. Not sure on the prices of the other spices, but looked like most were on clearance.

I got the deal of the century today.

a Hoover Linx Platinum series vacuum (orig $178) for $20!!!

This would have been a great deal regardless, but it was extra great because its something we are really going to need when we move in August.

My store has been doing store markdowns dirt cheap lately, so I'm not sure if this was one of those are not. Usually when a DM marks something like that down that much, we let each other know the good deals and they get gone quickly.

So this may have been a homeoffice markdown, though they rarely ever mark stuff down by that large of a percentage. But it may be worth taking a look at it, and price checking it at your store.

I also got the packs Ghiradelli chocolates for $1 (norm 3.48)!!! I don't NEED chocolate, but can't pass up yummy chocolate

Today I found a Leap Frog Tag Junior book- The Backyardigans opposites for $2.00, regular price $10.97. It was with the other regular priced tag junior books in the toy section.

does walmart have a clearance section or is it just all around the store. I know that target puts their clearance items on endcaps.. is there any organization or system to walmart's clearanced items!?

out of 3 stores i have, they are all different....

one: has the toys clearance in a certain spot in the toys section and then another 2 isles for everything else

two: has all clearance in an isle near the dog food by the "seasonal" area

three: has all the clearance in near the light bulbs/plumbing stuff
