Yay!
...and it was on clearance at WalMart!
DH's birthday is on the 29th, and I've been worrying about not having anything for him for his birthday (which is totally unrealistic, but a lot of big bills come out between now and then and I just worry a lot in general), anyway...
I was doing my grocery shopping at WalMart today and glanced at the clearance rack they put their baked goods on, when I see, on the very bottom shelf, a little Star Trek Enterprise on top of a cake! I literally went running to the shelf to look and it was a chocolate cake with a plastic Star Trek scene on top with a toy Enterprise ship sitting on top of it. It was marked $11 down from $20.
My husband is the biggest Trekkie I've ever met, so I grabbed up the cake and called my mom, lol. When I got home, we wrapped it up tight in cellophane and then in a garbage bag (so DH can't see what it is) and hid it in the bottom of the freezer. It sounds silly, but I'm so glad my mom taught me you could freeze a cake like that! That's how everyone here has gotten a birthday cake for the last year, hehe. But I'm just so excited!!! DH thinks he's getting a homemade cake cuz we can't afford a "fancy" one! LOL! I can't wait til the 29th!

Being that I personally worked in Walmarts Cake Decor... yes as you know you can freeze the cakes but just be sure when you are ready for it that you place it in a refrig. first.. dont try to put it directly into room temp because the icing on it will crack. That particular cake if they did the decor like its suppose to be done should be a dark blue... if it is, dont be shocked if the color fades to more of a purple... its typical. Nice find!![]()
