Default WALMART ~ Turkeys for 78c/Lb. at WM

This weekend I found frozen whole turkeys for 78 cents a lb. That's a great price.....I've never found them cheaper than 99 cents a lb, and that was after Thanksgiving.

About 4 years ago, we found 49¢ a pound at Walmart, and we got about 8 of them and put them in the deep freeze, but the last 2 years they have been too expensive.

That is a good price! I'm cooking two Thanksgiving dinners this year. My first year ever cooking the whole meal for both my and DH's families. I'm going to need a big turkey or two small ones!

Thanks for the great tip. I am part of a team that prepares Thanksgiving dinner for my church 8 days before Thanksgiving. I always have to pay $1 or more per pound. This will really save some money.

They're not "name brand," like Butterball......I'm not at home right now, or I'd look! I think they're "All American" or something like that. Generic-looking packaging, blue and white. I've used name brands and off-brands, and they're all pretty much the same to me. The only ones I can really taste a difference in are the organic, locally-raised ones......and well, we're just not in the financial boat this year to buy one of those!

HTH.
