    Default WALMART Overage Question

Im sure this has been spoken about before (SORRY), but what do you tell the cashier when they will not take a $1/1 coupon on (ANY) trial item that's for example $.97?

Lately, I've noticed Walmart and Target will not accept them anymore...the computer beeps, and they act like they can't pass it through (which I know they can b/c I've used them before)

According to my district office, its the store manager's discretion on whether they take the coupon for the full amount, whether they adjust it down to the price of the item, or whether they even take it at all. Walmart has no "official policy" on overage as far as I can find out. Try asking for the highest level of management available if you run into this problem.

Well, why not. The store does get their money back. Just like the mighty dog coupons--1free5.5oz(57c) at my walmart but the coupon scans for a dollar. I don't say anything since walmart will get the $1.00 back. I'm sure not ripping them off. I just make sure I buy other things at the same time. Love those mighty dog coupons--I have a little over 100 cans of the 5.5oz and they are free plus got $43.00 credits on other groceries along the way. Thanks, mighty dog.

Yup that's the key... buy other stuff along with it and don't use 50 at a time. No red flags then.

I just had the same thing happen tonight at my walmart, except my cashier was apparently not a " happy coupon camper" and decided that after she checked i had all the correct items to match my coupons and they were indeed all valid she felt that I had too many coupons and didnt want to take them all( she hadnt even started ringing me up) so before I could even say anything she called a manager over and asked him- and i quote " how many of these coupons do we have to take? because she has alot of them!" he asked her to repeat what she just asked him, and then asked her if I had got all of the items per coupons, which she said yes i did, and he told her that not only will she take all my coupons, i will get the full $1 even if it is an 97c item. needless to say she was not a "happy coupon camper"
