Default WALMART RUMOR Price Matching Policy Change

My husband is a manager at Walmart. He just informed me of the new program "Customer Must Win." Walmart will now ad match ANY store. If you live in Georgia and you have an ad from a store in California... THEY WILL HONOR IT! It doesn't matter where the store is, if it's a competitor of ANY Walmart, it will be honored. They have not changed the rules of ad matching, no BOGOs or % off sales will be matched. Please confirm this with your store. This is suppose to be a corporate policy now. But it could just be our local district's new policy. I will verify this as soon as possible!

Also they will now price match other Walmarts as long as it is not a clearance price. They will have to call to verify so it's really only worth it if it's a few dollars difference.

Hope this helps! Again, since this program is just launching this week, don't give them a hard time if they don't know about it yet. I am sure this is Walmart's retaliation to Target now price matching. They always want to beat Target.

I called 1-800 Walmart and they don't know about it yet. That's not surprising if it just launched yesterday. They only know what is in their system. Please verify this with your local store. I will see what more information my husband can obtain today.

    Save money. Live better.

Thank you , this is great to know. But , oh the headaches I see this causing.

In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.

I checked with my store today, and no one had heard of this. The cashier said their policy had not changed, and the CSM (who is generally on top if things) agreed. I would verify this with your store before expecting to price match ANYWHERE outside your normal area or even another Walmart.

under the current policy, you need the paper ad. whether your store requires it is YMMV, but that is what corp policy has always been.

It would be nice, but what it the point if you need a hard copy of an ad? I couldn't easily abtain an ad that is from out of state....that would be a pain.

Yes I know thats the current policy ,just was wondering with this "new one " only because how would we have access to other paper ads?
