HOT Walmart: Read before posting vent or complaint ~ 2009 - 2010

If you have a complaint, vent, or gripe about Walmart-related subjects, please post them in this thread or in HUTC. It seems like our section is overrun with complaints at the moment. I totally get the need to share complaints or vents, but its hard for people to locate the deals with all the separate complaint threads. I've had my share of bad experiences, and I do understand wanting to share your experience. Heck, I've even posted in HUTC recently about some not-so-stellar store experiences.

I'm going to sticky this for the time being so everyone will see it.

Complain away, my fellow coupon buddies!

Anyone else encounter the new coupon limit of 10 TOTAL coupons if your transaction is less than $100? Seems the manager was the only one who knew about it because the cashier sure didn't! The Mgr went ahead and took all my coupons since I was at the end of the transaction but if this is the new policy I'm not shopping there anymore!

I think I'm going to call corporate on Tuesday and ask about this one!

I would think if they had a new coupon policy, it would be on the website. Have you checked there? I would also print out the coupon policy from their site, if you haven't already. Just knowing the policy has helped me out a few times, not to mention knowing the name of a manager who knows that they DO take IP's! :)

If it does change, I won't stop shopping there. I'll just do a bunch of little transactions at a time and see how they like that! :) If it's done enough, maybe other customer complaints about how long the lines take will change their minds to go back to the old way.

I called corporate yesterday and was told the coupon policy had not changed. They are checking into it and will have someone call me back either today or tomorrow so I'll let ya know what they say. I also asked if managers can change the policy at the store level and was told no, but the do have the right to refuse a certain coupon at their discretion.

Didn't really learn anything we didn't already know through the phone call, it will be interesting what the deal was over the weekend at that store!

It seems like some store managers/supervisers take matters into their own hands. Very bizarre. I've had cashiers at Walmart tell me I was unable to by alcohol because I wasn't 25 - I was 22 at the time...like...oh gee I wasn't aware that they changed the law..

Today I had a unique experience there, I had 10 q's totaling $12 and somehow the cashier charged my charge card then realized she scanned my q's but they were not being deducted. She was cracking me up. She said none of my q's were "good", then told me I pressed the wrong button when I paid although I did not press any buttons. She said sorry there is nothing she can do to change my order but I can have my q's back. After some discussion that I wanted to use those q's she and told me to take this reciept from the cash register that she printed that said none of my q's were "good" and go to the service desk.
Seriously she really needed some training. We went to customer service so they could refund then re-ring my purchases and the customer service rep said where in the world did I check out and I said in the garden center and she said "ah that's why it was screwed up!"
I never met a coupon I did not like.

Well my complaint is that they have eliminated the self check out machines from my Walmart! They are re-doing the entire store and I was told that they are not bringing the machines back. I guess they had theft problems and I was told that the machines were always acting up. I loved those machines! Even if alot of the time there was a glitch with the coupons I like being able to do things myself. My main reason that I will miss them is I always got to use any coupon I ever had. They either went through when I scanned them or the Walmart employee always put them through. Now I have to deal with cashiers! Yikes! I have seen the posts of people complaining about cashiers giving them a hard time. I can't begin to tell you how upset I am! Is anyone else having this happen at their store? Thanks everyone for letting me vent!

if only started on my walmart gripes...
like last week when the cashier in charge of self checkout was talking to a friend, and ignored my help light for 20 minutes! TWENTY! and the only reason it was going off was because they blocked the machines from taking all coupons. Then she was to lazy to ring them in and handed me 15 bucks cash! Tax lady tax!
