| Why does the manager not want customer to shop at Walmart? I am confussed as to why a asst manager would be so nasty to a customer? I went through all the deals that were posted, got coupons ready and headed over to Walmart Thursday night. I had 44 coupons so I know it was alot but I made sure that I was not using any wrong coupons ( not on trial, etc) so when I went through u scan and got to about coupon # 8 it beeped and said too many coupons. So the guy working said he needed a manager to override it. The manager comes over very huffy, asked what the "problem" was. She never looked at me, started going through my coupons, then rumaging through my bags and started pulling out stuff saying that she could not use coupons on this, this and this. I asked why, she said these are the trial size, I told her that the coupon does not state that I can not use it the trial. Then she starts to read the fine print out loud, then says "do you think with all these coupons we are going to owe you money or something, we do not do that here" I told her that I would still owe the store that I was not looking to get money back. She handed the cashier my coupons and said finish this I do not have time for this "problem" I am the only manager here.
I was livid, she never once looked at me. I was ready to scream. I asked the cashier for the managers name and said that I would be calling. He told me that she was rude and that he hopes I came back. I wanted to laugh at him but it was not his fault. I told him that I was in management at one time and I would have never talked to anyone like that especially someone that is making sure I get a pay check every week. He continued to apoligize. I called on Friday but they said that the store manager was not in until Monday.
I hate Walmart, if it was not for the deals that we get on the kids toys some times I would never go in there. I knew I should have just skipped Walmart. Why do they make it so hard, I was not doing anything wrong, just using coupons!

| Re: Why does the manager not want customer to shop at Walmart? ugghhh thats awful...i have had a couple experiences in there that are similar, not as bad as yours but treated like a theif...i go maybe once a month now if that, i feel they have pretty much lost my business...whats a shame is i think there are good walmarts out there but u never know...last time i went i left almost my whole order there because they gave me a hard time about almost every legit coupon i had, i didnt argue just basically told them to keep it and left...walmart stinks when using coupons imo...hope u get an apology or something...i just think by the time i take shopping and matching coupons probably an hour or more then to be shot down at the register just isnt worth it for me:shrug7:

| My Turn... Well, I was hoping it would never happen, but today I had my first bad experience with Walmart.
I went this morning to get a couple of the Coke 24pks, the Hefty Bags and wanted to get some of the Pace Salsa. I got 2-24pks, 4 boxes of Hefty and 2 salsas. I get up to the register, my Coke coupon and Hefty go right thru, he gets to the Salsa and says "I can't take these because they are fradulent coupons." I respond by saying, "No they aren't, they are printed from the computer from winning the Pace Game". Then he says "It's coupon fraud and I've been told by my manager to not accept these". I said that was fine and asked him to call up his manager. He shows her the coupons and she says "We can't take these, they are fradulent" I repeat myself saying they aren't and actually pull out a jar that is advertising the Hand Pick to Win game. She still refuses to accept them, saying once again, that they are fradulent. I ask them to take them off. I pay and leave.
Once I get out to the car, I noticed that he only took one off and added another one...so I was still being charged for 2 jars that I didn't have. Now I have to go back in and get my credit. I walk in and ALL of the managers and the cashier are huddled at their little station, talking about ME! I have never been so humiliated in my life. The one lady finally turns around and asks what I need, I told her what happened and she takes me to CS and asks them to take care of me. After that, I decide that I'm gonna ask for the corporate number on the way out. I knew I could find the number on here, but I wanted them all to know that I was calling.
I walk up to the big group of people again, and ask for the corporate number. NONE of them look up at me...incl the store manager AND asst manager. One of the ladies asks why I need it and I said "I understand that you didn't want to accept the coupons and I am fine with that...but I do not appreciate you saying that I'm committing coupon fraud." She says that it's not what they meant and it's not what the cashier meant. I said "It's exactly what you meant". She tries to find a way out of it and then finally tells me to just call 1800Walmart.
I am not one for confrontation at all, but I just think that they were completely out of line today. And what's even more disappointing is that the managers were standing right there and let this happen.
I did a search online and found this phone number 479-273-4000. Is this the immediate response number that you all call? I tried it and it was automated and said they are only open weekdays. What number do you suggest I call? I can't just let this go, especially since I know the managers won't do anything about it since they just stood by this morning.
Thanks for listening to me vent. I know I shouldn't be letting it bother me because I did nothing wrong...but I just don't like being accused of doing something that is illegal. |

The district manager should be able to handle the store manager. Near the customer service desk in every store, up on the wall, is the phone number for the district manager. |

| re: Walmart: Read before posting vent or complaint ~ 2009 - 2010 Help! I almost screamed in WM today. I tried the popsicle 1/1 coupons on $1 items. They beeped of course and I got every excuse from you can't use them because they only cost $1 to (after 20 minutes) CS said they did not match the picture of 24 count. I waited another 15 minutes for a manager who said at this store, we go by the pictures - please! I went and got a 24 pack and of course same problem. The manager seemed embarassed, of course, never admitted it. She said there is a problem with the way the coupon is printed and told me not to call WM corporate to call Popsicle! I called WM corporate when I got home and they said someone would call me in 3 business days - any advice?:shrug7: |
