I went this morning to get a couple of the Coke 24pks, the Hefty Bags and wanted to get some of the Pace Salsa. I got 2-24pks, 4 boxes of Hefty and 2 salsas. I get up to the register, my Coke coupon and Hefty go right thru, he gets to the Salsa and says "I can't take these because they are fradulent coupons." I respond by saying, "No they aren't, they are printed from the computer from winning the Pace Game". Then he says "It's coupon fraud and I've been told by my manager to not accept these". I said that was fine and asked him to call up his manager. He shows her the coupons and she says "We can't take these, they are fradulent" I repeat myself saying they aren't and actually pull out a jar that is advertising the Hand Pick to Win game. She still refuses to accept them, saying once again, that they are fradulent. I ask them to take them off. I pay and leave.
Once I get out to the car, I noticed that he only took one off and added another one...so I was still being charged for 2 jars that I didn't have. Now I have to go back in and get my credit. I walk in and ALL of the managers and the cashier are huddled at their little station, talking about ME! I have never been so humiliated in my life. The one lady finally turns around and asks what I need, I told her what happened and she takes me to CS and asks them to take care of me. After that, I decide that I'm gonna ask for the corporate number on the way out. I knew I could find the number on here, but I wanted them all to know that I was calling.
I walk up to the big group of people again, and ask for the corporate number. NONE of them look up at me...incl the store manager AND asst manager. One of the ladies asks why I need it and I said "I understand that you didn't want to accept the coupons and I am fine with that...but I do not appreciate you saying that I'm committing coupon fraud." She says that it's not what they meant and it's not what the cashier meant. I said "It's exactly what you meant". She tries to find a way out of it and then finally tells me to just call 1800Walmart.
I am not one for confrontation at all, but I just think that they were completely out of line today. And what's even more disappointing is that the managers were standing right there and let this happen.
I did a search online and found this phone number 479-273-4000. Is this the immediate response number that you all call? I tried it and it was automated and said they are only open weekdays. What number do you suggest I call? I can't just let this go, especially since I know the managers won't do anything about it since they just stood by this morning.
Thanks for listening to me vent. I know I shouldn't be letting it bother me because I did nothing wrong...but I just don't like being accused of doing something that is illegal.
