Re: WALMART Price matching with coupon?
I don't think WM is noticing the 'abuse' going on with the NO AD needed to PM policy. While it is all over the net how people will use that policy to match NON matching items EXCEPT for the brand, they still have stores that allow customers to do whatever they want. This is NOT true for all stores but some (is it 50% of WM stores?) are pressured to just give in to their customers demands
We have read a lot of ad match for wrong size, with only the brand that is correct and yet, they go through. As mentioned by PP, even if cashiers don't find the sale in their ads @ the registers, I don't understand why they would be pressured to ad match "just this one time"
IF cashiers know they are right, shouldn't they stand their ground? But as mentioned, if store management will give in, we shouldn't be wondering why abuse has become rampant and there seems to be no end to it.
"Our stores will match the price of competitor"s printed ad for an identical product. Not applicable to Walmart.com.For ad match and coupons, some restrictions apply. See store for details." this part in fine print in their ads is a contradiction of their NO ads needed policy. Why specify all these for identical brand, product, size, flavor etc when all the customer has to say, I DON"T NEED TO PRESENT THE AD, just match what I say

Re: WALMART Price matching with coupon?
I was behind a lady that was doing ad matching from a bunch of ads. She couldn't find anything to match but kept saying it was there. Needless to say they wouldn't go along with her and moved me to another lane. I didn't want to go but wanted to watch the show. Apparently there are individuals who make up a bunch of stuff and those are recognized as a scam. But an occasional one they will probably let by.

Re: WALMART Price matching with coupon?
I'm sure the ad matching and using a coupon has started because customer are using $1.00 coupons and price matching to some made up fairy tale ad so they can match it to the price of their coupons.
Our WM is a huge push over when it comes to the customer is always right. I have called customers out that are in line with me trying to ad match to something that is not on sale. I always have my ads with me and I'll pull them out to keep everyone honest. It's up to us to help keep everyone honest. If we don't try we will lose what we have now. Step up when WM will not and make sure to point out that the customer is wrong.
