Seriously What are these managers thinking??? *yet another walmart rant*

As if my day wasn't bad enough already. My kids trampoline flew across the street and wrapped around my neighbors SUV I was almost in tears over that one. After speaking with her though i calmed down and decided to go to walmart to get some stuff for lunch and I was price matching another stores sale on ritz crackers and i had the $2/2 coupon, well when the cashier gets to the coupon she tells me i can not price match AND use a copupon..I could do one or the other.. Umm WHAT!??? I tell her Ive never heard this before and have NEVER had any issues with it before.

She then tells me that some cashiers just do not enforce it but it has always been the policy.

She calls over a CSM because of an issue with my kraft cheese coupon and then asks her to explain to me about the no coupon when price matching policy.

CSM says what the cashier told me but also adds that I'm STEALING when i do this. *my eyes bug out at this point* is she calling me a thief!!?? I try to explain to HER that her logic does not make sense. walmart is getting the same exact amount whether i use a coupon or not MORE if i use a coupon.

She then keeps repeating that it's stealing from walmart, meanwhile there is an older couple behind me and i'm getting red in the face so I just say fine and pay for my stuff, then proceed to CS.

I tell the lady there that I want to return the crackers because i was not aware of any new policy on no coupons when price matching and she says to give her my coupon, and i ask her for the manager because i don't appreciate being called a thief and she asks me who did this. I tell her. *she seemed genuinely disgusted that a cashier would call me a thief but even more disgusted when i told her oh no, it was a SCM that said it!*
She gives me my $2 and tells me she will take care of it.



Have i mentioned before how much i DESPISE Walmart!!??? LOL


This lady also told me that this was walmarts policy or rather it had come down from management. She was really nice so i decided not to tell her how moronic I thought her managers apparently are.

I probably would said "lf you think I am a thief ...call the cops." I think it is funny how Walmart employees act like couponers are this subculture of thieves.... why is it so wrong to try & save money? Isn't that the Walmart motto? Buy more, pay less (something like that.)

Nope, that's a bunch of BS.
I just had them PM CVS on the Electrasol deal a couple of weeks ago. I stopped at CS and specifically asked before I did this, and was told "of course, a manufacturer's coupon is a form of payment...no problem". So sorry you had such a rough day!!

I have gotten that from both of my local Wal-Marts, for quite some time now. I have no idea why they do that, they still get reimbursed.....:shrug7:

Im sorry to hear you guys have had so much trouble with Walmart. I worked there for 2 years up until Oct. and for a few years until 2004. And I was NEVER taught/trained that we were unable to accept coupons with price match items. I always went with the fact that I knew the customer purchased that item. And, on a side note, there are a LOT of WM employees who think they own the place!
