I don't think mine ever did it:shrug7:
My kids were really disappointed and I was surprised when I asked for a cookie for my kids and was told Wal-Mart was no longer doing this. She said at best they might start it up later with cookies that you can buy (what's the point of that?!) but for now-- no cookiesShe said not to expect to see anything for a long time.
Is anyone else running into this or is it just local? (I'm in KS)

This is not good, I don't know what i will tell my daughter when she asks for her cookie : ( It is a ritual for her to get her sugar cookies from the Walmart Bakery everytime we go there, and trust me I try to buy some to give her (to save me the time of waiting around on someone to give us the cookie) but she just will not have it. She is going to be so disappointed.
what a sorry-sad sign of the times!! I still (I am 46) have found memories of the "Ookie Lady" giving me cookies at our local grocery store. She always gave me the ones that looks like seashells with colorfull sprinkles on them. I would think that in this economy that WallyWorld would want our business!! Last night I "Had" to go...the cashiers treated me and hubby like trash..."look lady...the cat food is $3.33 a bag and your coupon is for $3.00" I reply..."yes?" she just shakes her head at me...
what cha gonna do? as for me...I only shop WM when I know I can get a smokin deal!!!

As a Brit, it amazes me to see how many people here, adults and children, walk around stores eating and drinking. This is frowned upon in England, most shops have signs outside saying 'no food or drink to be consumed', you are expected to sit down in the cafe if you need to eat or drink.
It's pretty bad for the digestion to eat while on the go, perhaps it might be good to get children into the habit of being able to gor for more than a short while without stuffing their faces![]()
Well, I'll tell ya, I found out last week. My Jewel stores DOES give out cookies. She said that they spent TWO THOUSAND dollars a month giving out cookies. She said that they opened approximately 500 boxes a month - which is 17 boxes a day for give aways.....I had no clue it was that many or it cost the store that much.

My Walmarts have never given out cookies but my Targets do.
I didn't even know about stores giving out cookies.
In my necks of the woods, Albertsons gives out their cookie "seconds". It really does not cost them anything if they were going to discard anyway.
