Walmart Return policy?

How picky is wal mart on returns without a reciept? I've looked and looked but still haven't found it. They used to give giftcards if you didn't have a reciept, is that still the way they do it? I'd settle for that since i'd be buying other gifts with the money anyway.

I've returned two items without receipts within the last few months. The first was under $5 and the lady gave me cash back, saying the amount wasn't worth doing a GC. The second item was around $17 and they issued a GC. However, since the item was now selling for a lower price, they only refunded that amount. :(

And I believe there is a limit on how many returns you can do without a receipt.

the limit is 3 without receipts in 90 days, so basically u can do 3 in 90 days and if it is more than that they can deny it or would call a supervisor to approve it.

Anybody know if the item has to be in original packaging? We bought a doll that talks for my DD today, and DH was already about to throw it out the window by the time we got home, so once inside the door he immediately ripped it out of the box and turned it off. Then I promptly found it for $15 cheaper on Amazon. Can I take the first one back, or will they not take it with a missing (demolished) box. I have my receipt! :)

Sounds like if they will take it back at Walmart, you should not buy another one!

Ok great! I haven't returned anything without a reciept in about a year so i should be good to go. And i'm sure now that christmas is coming up there will be lots of returns without reciepts.
