Default Wal-mart called the cops on me!

Omg I'm such a mess right now! I printed off a bunch of those $6 pantene coupons when they came out, as did two other members of my family. I bought mine, and then went and bought for my MIL, and was goign to buy for my aunt, a total of 45, 15 each. I go through conditioner really fast, so this was a great deal for me, and the manufacturer of this coupon assured that as long as you printed them off facebook then you were fine. Well I bouhght 15 yesterday morning for me, then got my MIL's and went adn did those yesterday evening. Was at another wal-mart today and used 5 there, lady said she could only do for the amount of the shampoo, which is what they are supposed to do, so of course I don't care. Then I went to my local store to get the last ten, the same cashier from the day before was there and said her cash register was broke and she was waiting on a CSM, so I said ok that's fine. Then she tells me that she can't take the coupons, b/c there has been problems with coupon usage at wal-mart. So I was like well ok then I guess I won't be buying anything. I go to leave and as I'm pulling away I see 3 store managers and a bunch of CSM's behind me, one of which appeared to be on a phone! THey were all staring at us and one was writing something down, I'm guessing our license plate! I was sooo shocked! So then I come home and try to find the e-mail saying they are legit, and come to find out the manufacturer has now said that any use of these coupons is considered fraudulent b/c they were put out a few days ago, and there is NO way that people could still have some from when they were originally put out! I want to go back up to wal-mart and get this straightened out, but at the same tiem I don't, b/c what if they refuse to believe me, and try to arrest me over me trying to save money! I waited until I saw these coupons would be legit, and b/c I waited I'm getting screwed!!!!!!

I personally would never believe that a IP coupon for that value and that much over the price of the item would be legit.

However, if you have the original e-mail from the manufacturer, it will have the time you received that notification on it. And the one saying they were not to be used will also have a time on it. Any coupon you used prior to receiving the 2nd e-mail should be fine. And you can take it to Wal-mart to show them if you need to. However, if you continue to try to use the coupons after receiving the 2nd e-mail. That would be wrong.

This isn't making any sense to me. Can you please clarify?

If the stores won't be reimbursed for the coupons you could actually bring the product back.

the manufacturuer of the coupon says that everyone should have used the coupons already, so that any used now were probably illegally printed.

That part didn't make sense to me either. If there were no limits placed on the number of coupons you could print, and they were used before the expiration, how can they say that there is no way someone could still have the coupons? Personally I have shyed away from using IP's for such reasons as this. Too many cashiers and managers tend to look at you like you are a crook when you use lots of them. And using only one or two just isn't worth the gas of going all the way to the stores anymore.

Exactly! Something is not adding up here. OP, can you post the actual correspondence from the company.

She is talking about coupons that were on the facebook page. Here is the thread that talks about it:
    http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...-any-form.html

Those coupons have been deemed invalid and that is why they would not let you use them and that is why they were probably going to call the cops. It is sad b/c some people printed them when they were on the site. I never saw these coupons so all I know is what the moderaters in charge have said.

Well from what I read, these coupons were ligit. Not from the manufacturer themselves, but from a company that will reimburse the other companies.
I don't have any of these myself personally (though I wish I did!!), but I don't think it is fair to assume that once you have these that I am immeadiately going to get up from my computer and run to redeem them.

I would avoid printable coupons. It gives them an unnecessary edge.
