Wal-Mart's Scan Right Guarantee has been confirmed to have ended on April 23, 2008. In light of many questions regarding what the new policy is, we are updating the sticky after receiving confirmation from corporate. The new policy should be found on all cash registers already. There have been reports that not all register signs have been changed. This is the new policy:

The company policy that replaces the Scan Right Guarantee states that any item that rings up the incorrect price will be sold to the customer at the lowest marked price, and all like items in the transaction will be the lowest marked price.

State laws vary regarding what a store must do if a product rings up the incorrect price, but this is the company policy. State laws do take precedence over this policy if they differ.
