| Walmart! Not Worth It!!!! Purchase Vs. Transaction When Using Coupons I ran to Walmart last night to get some things I had coupons for.
I had the free coupons for the 3M stainless steel cleaner pad starter kit that expired yesterday.
I found 3 of those and I had 2 Kashi coupons for $2.00 off and a Honey bunches of oats cereal for $2.00 off and a Ragu pouch for .75 off, and BOGO Sierra Mist.
I found all the stuff for the coupons and had 2 items not with coupons. I went to check out happy that I would hardly owe anything. The cashier ran all my stuff through and then started putting my coupons through.
When it came to the 3M freebies he said you can only use one of these. I said what do you mean only one. He said the coupon says only one per purchase.
I said "I don't think that is right but take the other ones off then I don't want them if they aren't able to be used with the coupon" so he voids off the other 2 and I give the people behind me the coupons.
They were happy and I was getting upset because I thought the cashier has to be wrong on the coupon purchase. The total for my stuff is $12.84 with the coupons all used for my items.
Which should of been no cost except for around $2.00 out of pocket. I paid it and then stopped and looked at my receipt and saw no money off for the Sierra Mist.
So I went to customer service. That's where the next incident happens.
The girl says you can't use all these coupons for this stuff, it is one coupon per transaction! You've got to be kidding me. So your telling me that I can use one coupon for all the things I bought.
YOU ARE WRONG! She said it is per purchase/transaction, the coupon tells you one per purchase.
A CSM showed up, I said I used coupons for my items and they missed giving me money off on the Sierra Mist, they had someone go get the coupon from the cashiers drawer so I asked her what is the rule on coupons?
She said you can use only one coupon for your items. I said so your telling me if I buy 10 bags of diapers and I have 10 coupons I can only use 1 coupon for all.
She said yes! You would have to do 10 different purchases to use the coupons. Unbelievable! I got my money back on the Sierra Mist and left.
I knew something was not right with the total I paid for the other items, so when I got home I wrote out the cost of each item and then subtracted the coupon for each item purchased.
They were overcharging me big time, so I got back in the car and went all the way back with my items back to the same girl and made her go through every item I bought. The cashier had recharged me for the 3M products after he had voided them out.
I requested a manager, but she didn't show up, she sent the CSM back to talk to me. He told the customer service girl to handle the problem. She went through and hand rung up every item I bought and then did the coupons and they owed me over $12.00 back.
I was sooooo stressed out by this time I told the CSM I don't like coming here bacuse every time I use a coupon there is either an over charge or the coupons beep.
What IS your policy on coupons? I think you need to look at your policy and get it right, because I just wasted $10.00 in gas coming back here and it is always a hassle over coupons. I don't think it is good when people are trying to save a buck that they get hassled over coupons. So what do you all think?

| Re: Walmart! Not Worth It!!!! Purchase Vs. Transaction When Using Coupons I've stopped shopping at WM. One of the reasons is their coupon policy. I've had to fight with numerous cashier over formula checks, valid coupons, etc.
Speaking with veracity, why would I shop at WM when I find everything I need at Target, CVS, and WAG's for little o.o.p.? |

| Re: Walmart! Not Worth It!!!! Purchase Vs. Transaction When Using Coupons There is a WM coupon policy online, because I printed it out here. Btw, to the above poster's point, I rarely use a Q at WM unless I HAVE to. In fact, I can usually find something cheaper somewhere else. If not, I get my coupon policy sheet ready, but have yet to have to use it.
I would have had to stand there and ask them to their faces (about ONE coupon per visit), "How do you get to be so stupid?". If nothing else, they would have had to ring me up as many times as it took me to use my Qs - I'm stubborn when I'm right. |

| Re: Walmart! Not Worth It!!!! Purchase Vs. Transaction When Using Coupons I agree, WM allows too much on the spot changes to the printed coupon policy. I use coupons there if I have to and only shop there when I have to. Which I remind Target of when they give me crap. I can spend $100 at Target or go over to WM weekly, their choice. |

I called back to the store, and she told me I would have to come back. I said well, I guess I'm out that three dollars, because I'm not going to waste ten in gas for a three dollar refund. I did tell her that they would be out more than the three dollars though, because I won't be back unless absolutely necessary. They have terrible policies and customer service. :shrug7: | We make sure to check and double check our receipts before we leave. Although we are a 5 minute drive from the places of business and take public transportation, it still costs money to return to the store. |
