Walmart gets reimbursed the full amount of the coupon- so if they're adjusting the Q down- they're actually making money off of each Q.

If they try to adjust the Q down, I *usually* just ask them to void off those items and ask for my Q's back- especially if it's *really* good overage that I'm missing out on ($1 plus)- I'd rather try a different day with a different cashier. I mean free is good, but overage is awesome- boy how quick we get spoiled LOL!
I have worked at Wal-Mart and I have been a CSM. They only get reimbursed for what they accept. What I mean is if they push through a $5 Zantac coupon, yes they will get reimbursed the $5. However, if they adjust the coupon down, Which is what they are suppose to do, tehn they should write on it what they adjusted it down to. So If they adjust any coupon you should make them write on it. Sometimes the cash office will find this and figure it out if they don't write on it. They also have to prove that they sold these items that the coupons are for. So if you use a coupon for the wrong item and a cashier pushes it through then they are out that money. Unless someone else buys it without a coupon, which will happen.
Trust me I like overage also, but you should not get upset if the cashier does thier job. I just try to go to the cashiers that know any better.

Every once in awhile you will get a coupon that is exactly what your buying and it will not go through. They can't just hit enter because it will not go through. If it is truly for that item they can hit vendor coupon then type in the amount. That is the way they can push them through. In some stores this may create a CSM approval. Not all stores do that just the ones with a lot of problems or high theft(shrink). But if if it is for the item then you have nothing to worry about.

They do the price of the monitor because the coupons says up to $20 off not $20 off.

Man, my WM needs to restock the post it page markers. They've been out since I took the last 8 a week ago. Maybe I should tell someone there to buy them in bulk? hehe
