wow. thanks. my husband is in the army. I'll have to call around.
I've had quite a bit of questions in PMs and on the board when I mentioned that Walgreens here has a military discount so I thought I'd post it on a thread all it's own so maybe some military ladies can see it when they wouldn't otherwise.
There is one here, not sure if they have them everywhere. Here it is Tuesdays and 15% off the TOP price of everything. They key it in as the employee discount so my thought is that they *could* do it everywhere if they wanted. I know that doesn't mean they will but it doesn't hurt to ask![]()
July's rebate program is the first time I"ve done the rebates and it was on something I had to buy $10 of to get the $5 rebate. My discount brought me below the needed $10 and I didn't even realize this until I filled out the rebate form. There were other items on the list so I'm not sure how this will turn out, but if you do get the discount and don't want any doubts as to whether you are reaching the required amt., grab one more of the items LOL. Same w/ overage....i get into overage b4 I know it b/c I forgot how much the 15% discount affects my bottom line. I'll get better at that as I go but thought I'd mention it.

if others can to the same and post your location (state), then we could create a comprehensive list.

My Walgreens does Military discount on Sundays.
I wouldn't have even noticed the sign but my 2 year old was yelling birdy birdy (eagle on the sign)
I'm in Utah (Layton)
Thanks! My husband is Active Army, so I will have to ask. I always forget to ask at registers when I shop.

How does it work for this discount if you are doing RR? For example if its buy 15 get 5, is it before or after discount? Thanks!
Well, this is a tricky question.....because things got all messed up last time (my first) I did RR. My Walgreens was one of those that didn't give the RR unless the FINAL total after Q's was the $15 or $20. I still don't know how it's supposed to work but assumed that the RR were given if your total before discounts and Q's were taken off.
I'd say your question is more of an RR question than a military discount question b/c if your store gives RR's BEFORE any discounts or Q's, then it won't matter when the military discount is deducted. If they don't give the RR unless your FINAL amt is over the $15 or $20 then you might want to consider when the mil. discount is taken.
When they ring you as military, they key it in BEFORE they even scan an item so that the computer takes it off of every item's price as its scanned. If you're not worried about RRs and things like that its GREAT b/c 15% off my TOP total is soooooo much more lucrative then 15% off my 5.00 OOP and useless if I have a bit of overage.
