| Re: Have A Walgreens Question ? Ask It Here! not all stores allow bogo coupon with bogo sale so this is YMMV.
scenario using walgreens 7 day coupon on item that is say 4.99
4.99 scaned item
4.99 scanned item
- 4.99 - scanned manf coupon
- 4.99 - scanned 7 day coupon
= 0.00 OOP (tax only)
when walgreens has a bogo sale w/out a 7day coupon it rings as follows
4.99 scaned item
0.00 scanned item
- 4.99 - scanned manf coupon - YMMV !!!
= 0.00 OOP (tax only)
other stores would handle this differently depending on how their registers ring bogo sale. stores can ring in any of these scenarios
comes off at end of transaction
4.99 scanned item
4.99 scanned item
- 4.99 manf coupon - would most likely work in this case
at bottom of CRT you'll see
- 4.99
2nd rings 0.00
4.99 scanned item
0.00 scanned item
- manf coupon would most likely not work in this case
each rings at 1/2 price
2.49 scanned item
2.49 scanned item
- 2.49 mang bogo coupon
= 2.49/2

| Re: Newbie to Walgreens I'm really new to Walgreen's, too. It seems like Walgreen's deals happen mainly in four ways.
1. Easysaver IVC (q found in the EasySaver booklet available at the store) and/or 7-day q from the weekly ad combined with manu q's.
2. RR - either the deal and the q's come together beautifully or some kind of glitch shows up that makes a deal a moneymaker (and usually lasts from Sunday to sometime Tuesday when they reprogram the registers).
3. Unadvertised sales/Clearance in store - YMMV.
4. Easysaver rebates - FAR (free after rebate items) and sale/coupon/rebate combos that make things free or close to it.
I know the veterans will have tons of helpful info. That's just what I've noticed and why I've started going to Walgreen's pretty regularly.

Anyone know????
I can't remember? | it depends on how the BOGO sale rings up. there are 3 ways:
1. both items ring up sale price. free is taken off at the end of receipt =YES you can use a coupon for each item.*watch out if it says BGLP on the register after the sale price*
2. both items ring up sale price. if there is a 7day WAGC that makes it BOGO then YES you can use a coupon for each item and have the cashier scan the WAGC last to take off price of one item.
3. first item rings up sale price. 2nd item rings up 0.00. Corporate policy states the store is not allowed to accept a coupon for an item that rings up 0. there are some who say their stores take a coupon for it but this is not corporate policy.
NOTE: if you see the letters BGLP beside the sale price, it means both items will ring up at sale price and you can use a coupon for each. the free or B1G150 discount will be taken off at end of receipt.

when the price of an item is let's say 3.99, there is a $3 IVC and you also have $2 MQ. if the WAGC is scanned first, register takes off $3 leaving a balance of .99
what happened in the past at some stores that I know of, the register beeped on the MQ if scanned last since its way over the balance of .99 whereas if MQ was scanned first, register takes it and leaves a balance of 1.99 and when the WAGC (IVC) is scanned it just automatically takes off whatever discount multiplied by the # of items in the order. That has been my observation for 4 yrs now. that way, overage is very possible without register beeps. |

| Re: Have A Walgreens Question ? Ask It Here! Ok, here's a question I haven't seen posted, referring to IVC's. I tried to use The 3.00 on any Revlon Colorstay WAGS IVC on a 1.59 Colorstay nail polish. The assist. mgr said it couldn't be done a) because the c/o value was higher than the item purchased and b) it couldn't be used on the nail polish even though the c/o stated "any". C/o pictures face products.
Fine. I'm not one to argue. I talked to corporate, just to ask a question. Made it clear the assist. mgr was lovely. I thought I read somewhere on here comments about corporate being clueless? I agree. The woman asked me why the coupon value wasn't adjusted down. I didn't know. Then she said she didn't know if that could be done. She said to call and talk to the store mgr. Mgr was v. nice, but said he couldn't answer the question, as nobody had ever asked him to reduce the value of a c/o. He researched the issue, called me back within 10 min. and said an IVC can't be adjusted down, but if I had had a mfg. c/o it could have been adjusted.
He also said he'd pass the info along to his staff--that made me very happy as the few times I've shopped at this Wags the cashiers seem to be afraid of c/o's--not unfriendly, just not c/o savy.
Omg, I didn't mean to write a book. The question is, in the opinion of you experts, can an IVC be adjusted down? I know each mgr has the final say, just curious about the experience of others.
TIA

That has been my observation for 4 yrs now. that way, overage is very possible without register beeps. | I've also observed Wags transactions carefully over many years, and I've always observed that it doesn't matter which is scanned first -- the IVC or the MQ. Using your example, it appears from my observations that both the IVC and the MQ query the item for which it is for, regardless of other coupons. That is, if an item is $3.99 and a $3 IVC is scanned, $3 is deducted because the computer "looks" for the item, and "sees" that such an item was indeed purchased for $3.99. Then, even if the IVC has already been scanned, when a $2 MQ for that item is scanned, the computer again "looks" for such an item, "sees" that such item has been purchased for $3.99, and $2 are deducted. No beeps, no problems. The only time there could be a problem is if there was nothing else in the order to absorb the overage. It will beep if the whole transaction goes into the negative. Perhaps computers are programmed differently in different regions, seeing as your and my experiences have been so divergent. |
