And suddenly yesterday when I did the Dove deal my store's registers are ringing them at funky amounts, which they never have before. I got the hair stuff and they rang up

So when she took my B1G1 coupons off she took off

which is BS because I got shorted $1.50 that way so now I'm going to have to go back and make them fix it. UUGGHH
The Scope rang up that way too...3.49 and 2.51. Don't know why they decided to switch to that method but I'm not liking it!

The reason this happened is because it rang up at that price they cant refund for an amount listed over what is on the receipt as that would be coupon fraud .... HOWEVER there is a way around this ... If you hand them the free treatments first they will ring up as 4.49 each and then if you give them the shampoo or conditioners last then it will ring that one up as the 1.53 one and when they do that then they will mark you for 4.49 off each coupon its all in the way you hand the items to them ... I always make sure to hand them the free stuff first when its on a sale like this so they take off the most for the items Now if your ringing up 4 of the same items and supposed to be getting them free then there is nothing you can do about that as it will take off the lower priced one first unless the cashier looks at the first price and just take that off but most of them dont do that

Thank you so much for posting this! I kept thinking, how would I know which item is the one that will be the lower price......And now that you mention it.....it IS always the last one scanned! From now on, I'm going to hand them my "frees" first out the buy one get one free items! This is really great info. I should have noticed that no matter what, the cheaper one is always the last one scanned. KUDDOS!

About the wacky Dove prices:
I think the reason they do it like that is because the sale is 4/$15, not $3.75 each.
If someone comes in and buys less than 4, they will each ring up $4.49.
The 4th item triggers the sale price in this case.

That is exactly why they do it because they dont want people getting the sale price without buying the sale - Now see most stores will give you the sale price regardless of how many you buy and thats how they should do it because they would sell alot more if they did it that way there are times I would take part in a deal at the sale price without coupon but dont because i dont need 4 of an item

Even after reading the thread here, I stupidly handed over the shampoo/conditioner first. She carefully checked the receipt and entered 4.49 and 1.53. Thankfully I caught it in time and asked her to cancel the transaction. Then I started over, handed the treatments first and got the 4.49 + 4.49 taken off.
For some reason, I had it in my mind that it was "buy treatments get shampoo/cond. free" She pointed out the correct wording and was nice enough to give me a do-over.
I only have one coupon left. Wish I had another...
