DD3 Walgreen's Pampers deal for stockpiling

My wife and I are avid couponers and decided it was time to investigate utilizing baby coupons for ourselves. We'd like to start a stockpile, but don't know what is a 'good deal' when it comes to stock piling. I've already read the cons of stock piling when no baby is on the way, but we are perfectly comfortable to donate to shelters if need be.

So here is a scenario that I'd like to execute:

Walgreen's has Pampers on sale for 2/$18
RR on a pair of $3
RR when you spend $20 of $5
Infant Care Walgreens q of $2
    Manufacture q of $2.50 (have 20)

Now the big question, does Walgreens give RR for every $20 you spend or do you have to separate the orders? That would alter my plan a bit...

    If so:

Buy 7 pairs of Pampers for a total cost of $126. Use 14 Infant Care $2 for -$28. Total now at $98. Use 14 Manufacture $2.50 q for -$35. You would then pay $63 OOP. Since 7 pairs were purchased, should receive $21 in RR and then $20 was achieved 6 times for another $30 in RR for a total of $51.

    Since I'll have 6 manufacture q left:

Buy 3 pairs of Pampers for a total of $54. Use 6 Infant Care $2 for -$12. Total now at $42. Use 6 manufacture q for -$15. Total now at $27. Use RR and still have $24 in RR remaining. ***I'm assuming from what I've read, Walgreen's won't give you additional RR when using RR to purchase?***

So if I wasn't too confusing, that is a total of 20 packages of Pampers for $63 OOP while still having $24 in RR.

That's ~1,000 diapers (depending on size) for $39 or .039 per diaper.

Is this a stock pile deal?

You have to separate into different transaction. You get $3 RR per pair per transaction or $5 WYB $20 per transaction. You can get both the $3 RR and the $5 RR in one transaction, but you can't get 2 $3 RR per transaction. I think it could work, but you need to plan differently.

I also wouldn't count your RR left over in this deal because you haven't spent them yet. You could lose them or forget to go back before they expire. And to make it more confusing, you cannot roll this RRs. So you can't buy 3 Pampers in one transaction, get back $8 RR, and use those $8 in a second transaction.

I'm going to ask this post to be moved to Wags because it makes more sense over there. :)

Thanks for the info - makes sense. I was doing more research and found some places that say buy 3 pampers and 1 wipes for the transaction. Could do that, but I need to find some wipes q.

Never knew that about RR, but again, I typically don't shop at Walgreen's. So if you try and use the RR on the 2nd transaction, they don't work? That's odd...

I only put it in this thread because of a diaper deal, not the store deal figuring I would get the best response in terms of diapers. Feel free to move it.

The wording on the RRs from Proctor & Gamble products specifically says that it cannot be used on Proctor & Gamble products, so you can't use the Pampers RR on Tide, Dawn, Downy, Luvs, Oral B, Crest, etc.

OK, good to know. Guess this isn't a stockpile deal at all. Guess we'll have to wait for the next Walgreen brand deal.

This is a pretty good stockpiling deal for Pampers, really, but yes, you have to change the way you do it.

With RR the general rule is, you can't use an RR for a certain product to purchase that product again, because if you do the RR on the current purchase will not print.

P&G - totally different. Their RR specifically state they should not be used to purchase other P&G products. Which is a lot of different things. I tend to use extra RR to buy TP (no Charmin in this case) and bottled water, or milk and eggs if those are reasonably priced.

Also I don't think it's been mentioned, the $5 RR WYB $20 is ONLY good on Pampers. But if you use it on Pampers in this scenario, you probably won't get another one. BUT you could buy 1 jumbo pack for $9, use a WAG Infant care $2 q and the $5 RR and get it for $2.

Not a deal I'm going to do because I'm so stocked on diapers right now and don't know when my DD will go up a size. But you could make it work for you.

Talking about using a P&G RR on another P&G deal is forbidden here at HCW, because the RR itself says not to be used on P&G products. It can get you a warning and an infraction, so you might want to delete your post

In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.

this coupon is specifically for your next purchase of pampers so how can that be against the rules? It's not a OYNO cat for general items

As long as this is a RR/catalina intended for your next Pampers order, then the discussion is allowed. Do you happen to have a catalina that you can scan and PM me? (Been out of the diaper buying stage around here for a few years)
