QUESTION RR- going to stop ?

From one Walgreens employee told me she heard from the corporate - they might stop the RR all the way- slowly but- it will stop .

Could that be the reason why the RR are so bad lately or not any good .. ? Any one know any details about this ?

i live east or richmond va and west of williamsburg va...

richmond is one of the test areas for the rewards cards.. well every week sence june when they started those cards more and more of the RR deals have been disapearing in richmond, Williamsburg dose not have the cards and the RR deals are still there.... so there is no doubt the RRs are on their way out.... I wont use the Rewards cards.. it wont make any difference i am only one person... but i wont use them never the less

I haven't heard anything about RR's going away yet. I'd like to be optimistic, and think the slow down in the RR deals had more to do with the regular ebb and flow of wag's deal than a gradual end to the RR program. I seems like I remember this time last summer was a slow time for RR deals, so I looked back at my spreadsheets for that time period. I did not have any scenarios at all in my spreadsheets from 7/19/09 thru 8/9/09. It looks like I burned some RR's and took a break for about a month. Then it looks like I didn't really get back into rolling RR's until the week of 9/27/09. I had a couple weeks of vacation in September, so that kept me out of the wag's for a bit as well. I'm kinda glad for these slow times, actually. It helps keep me from getting burned out.

I was with my Mom at her store in Missouri the other day and the manager was telling us that they are thinking about doing away with the RR completely. He said that everyone likes the idea, but I don't know who "everybody" is, because it sure isn't a lot of couponers

I'm already paring down my WAGS shopping. It's more effecient for me to go to some place like Target where I can purchase as much as I want...then to fiddle fart with WAGS each day.

The manager still gets excited when I walk in the door LOL...if only he realized his assist manager gives me such grief I just don't bother most of the time with WAGS now.

I love WAGS. I don't get hassled at all. The cashiers like it when I come in. They want to know what deal I am getting and want me to show them how to do it. Maybe some managers want to do away with RR because customers who don't know how to do it give them such grief. I hear lots of stories about rude and mean customers. There is no reason to justify rudeness to cashiers who are just trying to do their job. If they don't understand how the coupons/RR work just take a few minutes to explain it to them. It may be the managers job, but they might think the cashier understood during training, but they didn't really get it. How many have started a job and thought you understood but when had to put it into practice had really misunderstood? I prefer to help them out and they do appreciate it . This has just been my observation. I don't have problems at Target either. I use lots of coupons there too.

This employee told me they are getting tired of certain customers thinking that " they are dumb " - bc. it seams like some customers like to play the part of " pretending not knowing " why a RR didn't print out- and than every time making a scene until the manager overrides it and gives it to them manually - so she says this is one of the big reasons, customers not understanding/or not wanting to understand/or pretending not to understand/ and trying to take advantage of the system.

i did like rr - few months ago- they had a lot of them and i could get as many as i wanted.
now - past 4-5 weeks it really slowed down.. and they let me take only 1-2 at a time, and i'm just a " large amount " shopper- all the time.. so that kind of turned me off..

i like fry's - it's my # 1 so far :) always have great deals, i only hope they don't stop the " all coupons worth 1 $

Walgreens has a test program that you can read about here.

It seems that in the areas with the test program they are reducing the number of RR deals. Since it is a test program we don't really know what is eventually going to happen since they have not finalized anything yet.

Could we please keep the discussion about the program and not other members opinions? Thanks!

GETTING BACK TO THE SUBJECT

If your wanting them to not stop the RR program...the very best thing you can do in the test area's is to not use the card.

I kind of feel like WAGS has delusioned themselves into thinking that there regular prices aren't outrageous. From what I've gathered with the card...it doesn't really change that...the RR's are worth it...in a sense because I can get something for a better price...even if I have to shop weird.

However...if they stopped the RR's here...there would be NO REASON for me to ever go to WAGS outside of prescriptions...as Walmart would basically always be a better price. I don't have much competition out here though...

I agree. The prices at WAGS are not reasonable to me. I wouldn't shop there if it weren't for the RR deals. I can get items there for free that cost me alot more at other places. I only started shopping there because of RR. If they stop them, I will go somewhere else to shop.
