Cleaned up the thread. The Walgreens forum is place for discussing deals, helping each other understand the deals, asking questions and answering questions.

The poster of this thread wanted to know if they were getting rid of RRs at Wags. Your help in keeping this thread to that topic will be very appreciated.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. Thanks!

I would be very surprised if they did away with RRs. They just discontinued their rebate program recently. CVS has ECBs, what would Wags have without the RRs? What do they think will draw customers into their store's, their friendly nature?

They also get a promotional "incentive" from the manufacturers when they run RR deals, they going to give up that income?

":their friendly nature? " (although in all sincereness mine are great...except for one assit manager..who...well...I won't say what I think of her).

Anywho...back to topic...No kidding...it's not like they are losing out on the RR's...they get that money back...and we all buy a bazillion razors cause of it....

Man if we didn't buy all that free stuff...it would be gathering dust on the shelf...just like at rite aid..and we all know how they are doing $$ wise .

I could be wrong, but I think they are testing different methods in different test areas. Because we have the cards but we still have all of the RR as well. So maybe they are testing using the cards conjoined with RR or alone....I haven't minded the cards because I haven't done anything different and I get some extra incentives, but I def won't be using the cards or shopping at WAGS much without RR

I wouldn't be surprised if they did get rid of RR's. Where I live, the cashier's do everything to avoid people getting them. Like one poster said, they make you fiddle and fart around just to get them. I have not heard either way if they will stay or go. In Central FL, they are here.

I did the ESR from '98-'09, until they stopped it & as far back as I can remember, there's always a lag in the summer months. If the RR deals don't pick up next month, then you can start worrying.

They also give a huge RR week & then slow them down so that you're forced to use your RR's on higher priced items or roll them into mediocre deals. I hope we're just seeing the same pattern here. But personally, I think they brought the Rewards card in to get rid of store q's & eventually limit deals like RA & CVS are doing.

So true. I've learned to be cautious during those RR explosion weeks when the deals are almost too good to be true with the potential to rack up tons of RRs. I always ask myself, will I be able to spend these, or will they become a burden when several weeks pass with nothing to spend them on.
Same at CVS.

I am just glad to get RRs even if I have to use them on higher priced items because I'm not really spending any out of my pocket. that RRs hang around. I  WAGS!! :)

I like to get RC's saved up for those "explosions" so I have something to spend them on. If there's a really great MM though, I'm all for it. If I make $3 on a $5 item, I'm already getting a 60% savings on anything I use them on. That's when I'll use them for things that never have coupons, like TUF trash bags or Waggin Train treats for my mutt brats.

However, Wags customers who do not coupon & plenty that do, will spend $5 & get $5 back in RR's & then not see the RR as real money. For that reason, Wags would be losing out big time if they discontinue the RR's.

If CVS offers EBs amd Rite Aid offers +UPs, I think WAGs may reconsider getting rid of RRs because without them they would have nothing to offer. If anything, I see them having a card and limiting the deals, but not getting rid of the RRs altogether. Only time will tell what they will decide to do.

Recently, I started to think that maybe WAGs and CVS were going to cut back on what they offered and then Rite Aid jumped into the game; now I think that all three will press on for a while, if for no other reason, to be competitive.

My stockpiles of non-perishables are quite good so I'm prepared no matter what happens.
