WALGREENS QUESTION: Reach Toothbrush Deal = paid more after military discount??

i went tues to receive 15% military discount

i bought other items and used coupons and RR to pay

this is how the reach rang up

2.55 E15%
2.55 E15%
2.55 E15%
3.34-RCH T/B 2S (this is the $5 off 3 in ad coupon)
=4.31 (ad states final cost after $5/3 is 3/3.99)

so i was overcharged 32c.

anyone know why it rung like this?

total for order was 2.11 (1.43 was tax)

I did the Reach deal twice, and had the same problem both times. On one transaction I tried 6 Reach items and figured maybe the coupon was programmed to only work for three. But when I bought three, I had the same problem. I decided to just give up on that deal.

One of your toothbrushes wasn't included in the sale. The difference of 5.01 and your discount (3.34) is 1.67.

The 2S in your coupon line means 2 items that qualify for the sale.

If it was included in the sale, the computer didn't include it in your discount. You were overcharged 1.67.

Math:
Total discount is 5.01
per item 5.01/3 = 1.67

1.67 * 2 = 3.34

I did--3 in one transaction, took off $5.01. 6 in the next transaction, took off $10.02. It says limit 3, so I might try 9 today!
But 6 is the best deal with the b1g1 coups.

yes, your math works, but the weird thing is -ivc are usually discounted by the 15% as well:shrug7:

yes it works with more than three, it also works withmore than 6, or 9...even works with ten;).

So as long as you have more than three you can have any number 4, 5, 7

from past experience with 15% FF discount, once the sale involves a 7dWAGc, I don't get add'l discount although it lowers my taxes since we pay tax BEFORE coupons.

with this Reach, I've been doing 6 TBs and 6 floss per transaction and used 3 BOGO TB,, 3 BOGO floss and 6 of $1/1 for the remaining 6 items. The IVC discount when scanned LAST is 20.04

I just make sure I have other items to absorb the overage for beep-less transactions.

but it makes no sense that i ended up paying MORE than the advertised 3/3.99.

what is the lesson learned here?

should i not use my 15% on a 7day ad coupon item?

and if i do, what math do i use to calculate what my total will be?
