Good job....soon she will love to get deals on her own and create a small stockpile for herself.
So, I sent my 19 year old DD to do some deals for me at Walgreens the other day. She was going to be near one and we live 20 min. from the nearest one.
Anyway, she was getting me a couple of the Purex laundry detergent that was BOGO with the BOGO Q. When she went to check out the cashier told her she didn't think that coupon could be used because since she was already getting one free that one wasn't technically being purchased.
My DD calmly and nicely but firmly explained to her that yes one was being purchased, it was just being paid for with a coupon as payment instead of cash and that the store would get reimbursed. Apparently this convinced the cashier, because she said okay and put it through.
I am so proud. I have trained her well.

Raising children(especially teens) is like being pecked to death by a chicken
In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.

Good for her! Nice job with the training!
Yeah!! I always carry my CVS coupon policy with me since that happened to me once a while back. Now, I just whip out the policy if the nice explanation doesn't get it and voila....I walk out with two for free....all legity legity type!
Great job for the DD....my 14 y/o is starting to pick up on couponing too now that she realizes she can get free/cheap hair products that I won't buy her!

Way to go! I am hoping when my kids get a little older they'll pick up on this too. Right now, they get terribly embarrassed and are mortified if I try to argue for my coupons. They just want me to put the stuff back and leave the store or else pay the higher price. I hope that will change as they get older and begin to appreciate the value of a dollar. Assuming someday they will...
Good job!!!
My six year old told me the other day that he really likes that I use coupons because it saves us money and we have lots of food I usually don't buy. LOL. Melts my heart!
Great job!!! Unfortunately, my family is trained to the point that if they want something - they tell me instead of getting it for themselves... they know that I'll find it cheaper and not get generic. Earlier, my mom was hilarious - as I was checking out - buying a few JohnFrieda's to burn some RRs... she's like "aren't u going to get some Walgreens money?" we call
it Walgreens money... so that she understands the madness...) She loves seeing transactions go from $40+ to $4, of which $3.50 is tax... She won't do the transaction but she likes seeing me do it...
