It is an old email from 2007 but I don't care, I still carry it in case I have any issues. As far as my understanding.......it should not matter what sale the store has.......the sale should be irregardless of the Manufacturer coupons being used. Coupons are a form of payment.......if I've purchased the requirements for the coupon and they would take cash......then they should take the coupons. HOWEVER.......I think the problem comes in because a LOT (ok almost all) managers / cashiers do not understand coupons..........afterall.....couponing like we do on here.....it does take awhile to understand these things. I remember when I first started couponing.......PHEW.....it was so overwhelming. And if managers don't understand coupons we can't really expect cashiers to understand all the ins and outs of coupons......hence where I think the YMMV comes into play.
Anyways.........here is the post I made 1-19-08

This was posted on HCW quite awhile back.........I have coveted it ever since. I'm not Mrs. Farrell, but I'm very thankful to her for posting this long ago. I have posted this copy from time to time whenever the issues comes up. Maybe the mods would like to put this in FAQ? Not sure........for whatever it is worth here it is:
I was refused a coupon usage on the Loreal Vive shampoo bogo
walgreens deal and using my man coupon for bogo to
get them both free.
So, I e-mailed Corporate and here is their response.

Dear Mrs. Farrell,
Thank you for taking your time to contact our Corporate Offices
regarding
coupons. We appreciate hearing from our customers and value all
comments
received.
If you are purchasing a buy one get one free item and you have coupon
for
buy one get one free, you will be getting both items free.
Again, thank you for letting us know about your satisfaction. We truly
appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Sincerely,

Also as an FYI
My RA tried saying it was fraud to use a BOGO on a BOGO........and I nicely but persistently pursued the issue with the district manager. They had attended a loss prevention thingy on coupons and I think they got scared they were doing something wrong. Once the DM did some calling around, she called me back and said I have great news! It is allowed and there is nothing wrong with it.....WAHOO.
