    Default Walgreens - No RR due to using RR from other Deal?

    I went to Walgreens and got 4 Dayquil/nyquil products and got the $10 RR for $20 purchase. I went to leave and remembered the Hershey/twizzler deal $5 RR with $10 purchase, so I decided to go back in and use the $10 RR from Vicks to get the hershey deal. The RR did not print. The manager came up, and agreed that I purchased the correct items/amount to receive the RR, but said that due to using an RR that it would not issue another one. She was really nice about it, and said if I wanted she could void and I could come back tomorrow and talk to the bigger manager, but I said it was too far. Stupid me didn't think to have her void and pay with cash to get the $5 RR. Anyone else have this issue? Funny thing is, I used 2 $4 RR's to pay for the first transaction and got the $10 RR.:shrug7:

    This would sound silly except for I know that Skippy Peanut Butter (and other food/drink items) is made by Unilever ..... could the Twizzlers & Vicks be the same parent company ?? Thats the only thing I can think of that would have botched up your RR printing.

    No, that is not correct. The only time that is correct is if you were using the RR from one promo (ie: dayquil) to buy another RR deal from the same promo (dayquil)...

    You can call Catalina to have them mail you your RR if you still have your receipt...

    The Vicks are Proctor & Gamble, and they hersheys/twizzlers are Hershey's. I think I'm going to call Corporate tomorrow and see what they say.

    Something similar happened to me on Saturday when trying to buy the Dayquil/Nyquil...They were still $4.49 and I purchased 5 to get me over the $20 mark and I also bought 3 candy bars for 3/$2.....I used 2 $2 Nyquil q's and 2 $1 Nyquil q's and a $10 RR from the Bayer Contour purchase 2 weeks prior....The $10 RR didnt print....The cashier and Asst Manager said it was because I used coupons and RR....I know better....I had them refund my order....I emailed corp and got a call today from the Community Manager, a Mr Conn, who said that I am not able to combine offers....Funny thing is, I went to another WAG's today to purchase the Nyquil/Dayquil product again (yes, I am persistent cuz that $10 RR was expiring today)....I bought 2 Dayquils (1 liquid, 1 capsules) and 2 Nyquils (1 liquid and 1 capsules) (Plus these bottles were bigger than Saturdays deals) and the 3 candy bars again plus 2 Valentine Day cups......I used 3 $2 Nyquil q's (found an extra $2 q) and 1 $1 Nyquil q and a $1 RR and a $10 RR....And guess what? A $10 RR printed for the Nyquil deal as well as a $1 RR for the 3 Musketeer bars.....So, is the Community Manager right or is all the other Walgreens I have visited over the past few months where I have done my deals without any incidents and have received my RR? Should I go ahead and complain to corp about the Community Manager or just let this one go this time....I know I wont be shopping in that Walgreens again, no matter how far from home I am....

    It has been in my experience, that complaining to corporate does no good at all because all they do is forward the call to the store manager you are complaining about in the first place (they forward to the actual manager, not the ASM).

    Anytime RRs do not print, I kindly ask if the light is on, paper is in, etc. If I know I've met the terms (ie: $20 worth) and it doesn't print, I just call Catalina and they mail the RR to me.

    Otherwise, ask your SM or ASM to humor you and ring the order without using your existing RR and I guarantee you that the new RR still won't print!!

    Sometimes there is just no educating the managers......and your only option is to find another Wags or have Catalina mail it to you.

    I agree, disabledvetswife! Calling Corporate to complain gets you nowhere. This should be reserved for serious customer service issues, not a RR not printing or someone not knowing an answer to a question.
    Store Managers at WAG are allowed to set the coupon redemption policy for their store. Period. That's the trouble with shopping at WAG. If you have questions about a particular store's Q policy, speak directly with the Store Manager, then the District Manager (look in your local phone book for the number).

    I also agree about calling corp. for RR not printing. Calls like that will just be referred to the store manager. Catalina can help you with this. Did they try to ring up the transaction without coupons to see what happened?

    DEFINITELY email Catalina....they're better with this and will just mail you the RR you should have gotten. I never, ever, try and deal with the store about a missing RR past the initial question to the cashier and present manager. If they can't take care of it right then, I tell them thank you and just email Catalina.

    Thanks for that advise! I email corp cuz it makes feel better about my experience...I firmly believe that if I pay for a product that offers a bonus, then I too should also receive what was promised in the ad....I have never called the catalina customer service...I dont believe in this option...I do believe in refunding my transaction and going to another store I trust.....Maybe others like calling the catalina people and waiting for them to snail mail them their RR but I just dont have the patience for that! If your ad states that I am to receive a bonus for purchasing products in your store, then I should be leaving the store with that bonus and not have to call the 3rd party company to help enforce your ad policy...JMO.
