I tried to pay my transaction last night with a money card I earned from the WAG monthly rebate problem. Don't laugh, I still have lots left. Anyway, the card would not read at the machine beside the register. The manager said it was because the program had been removed since they are moving to the new card system. The cashier was able to get the card read directly at the register. Time to get all my money cards converted to WAG gift cards. Word to the wise.

You do get 300 points for each prescription, and there will be weekly bonus points, but not until june the cashier said. Also starting then you will only get sale prices if you use your card.

Hmmm, it will be interesting to see how this fleshes out over time.

I do know that I hate having to work up WAGS deals because of their limitations on using RR if the reward is from the same company of the product you wish to use it on - how stupid it is that P&G(example) RR won't let you use it on another P&G product purchase - basically forcing you to use their 'generous' gift on a competitors product.

But hey, maybe this new program will be smarter and at least make it easier to take advantage of the deals without all the brain works it takes now, picking out fillers etc.

I love CVS, they make it effortless really. So much easier to work the deals there!

Can we hope that WAGS will be close to that type of format? I am wishing it so

The plus with CVS is I don't get a headache leaving that store trying to figure out which filler to get, and which RR to use or not use bla bla bla bla bla

So if WAGS wants to add a card...then they have got to figure out a way to make there store less complicated not more.
Co-sign! Sometimes I feel like I need to earn another degree to figure out transactions. I'll start shopping @ WAGS more if the card will make their program easier.

I'm not liking how the new card sounds like it will work.

I am lucky and in an area where there aren't many couponers, so I never have an issue with stock. It's nice when there are RR items that I really use - like the dove shampoo week - to be able to go 3-5x and get multiples. But if a card limits, am I really going to get 3-4 cards and keep track of them all? I tried two cards with cvs and it only worked till my youngest became a toddler and couldn't do multiple trips any longer, now down to 1 card.

Hi MamaBird06 :-) I also signed up for my card this past Sunday but I am not sure if I am for or against this yet. $200 is a lot to spend to get $5 back so hopefully bonus points will help us get there quicker. The employees I talked to seem excited about the card (of course they are paid to "seem" that way HAHA) and say it will be better than RRs. I was also told that RRs are going completely out the door. Not sure how that will work since the program is still in pilot phase...
Also my card had to be activated along with my application and they checked it over to see if it was a "real" name. Wonder what they would say if my name was something like JoRowya Boat?? LOL

Well, if they plan on rolling it out, here in the Raleigh area we haven't heard about it yet in the stores or local ads - and the sneak peak ad for this coming week shows very few RR's opportunities in the ad.

I guess they're planning to run with it...

The main question I would like an answer to is whether or not the RR program will continue. I've read different message boards and blogs and comments in various places and so far no one seems to know for sure. For as many people I have read about so far that say they have personally spoken with a Wag's employee (mgr, cashier, CSR, etc) and had that employee tell them the RR program is not going away, it seems there are just as many other people who have spoken with Wag's employees and had them say the RR program will be going away. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, this is the way of Wag's, afterall.

I have seen a May 9th ad posted from one of the new test market areas and I only saw things like "400 bonus points" or "3X points". I did not see any RR's advertised in it. If the RR's are not going away, then shouldn't they appear in the ad along with all the points? Also, how are we to know what items will generate the RR's if they aren't shown in the ads?

I would love to hear from someone who is shopping in the new test market. Did you use your new card, and if so are you still getting RR's?

Thumbs Down Re: Walgreens testing customer loyalty cards this Spring

I just looked up my rewards card online to see how many points that I have earned. Most of my transactions earned o points because I spent under $1 using coupons and rr. What a waste of my time. I was really hoping that the points would be based on before coupon total. Well, bad news it does not. That bites!

That's what I was afraid of. You're right, it bites!
