Default Walgreens - New here and trying to figure it all out!

From another site, I read this:

Huggies diapers
Buy one for $8.99
Earn $3 in RR
Use the $2 off any Huggies diaper pack coupon -IE
Final Price = $3.99

I haven't had any experiences with RRs yet. How is the above working? Is it meaning that a 2nd package of diapers would be 3.99, after buying one for 8.99 and then getting the $3 RR? Like I said, I'm new and confused. Thanks so much.
Allison

The coupons in the CAB (Children's Activity Book) cannot be used on sale priced merchandise.

You would buy 1 at $8.99 - $2.00 IP = $6.99 + tax OOP.
You'll receive a $3.00 RR good toward your next purchase.

Each package (one per transaction) is $8.99 - $2 IP = $6.99, then you earn a $3 RR on each pack. Just make sure not to use the Huggies $3 RR to purchase more Huggies or you won't get the new RR.

the sale price is 8.99, then you use a huggies coupon from internet for $2/1, so you pay 6.99 OOP +tax and get back $3RR. If you use the RR to pay for the second pack, you wont get another RR. Your final price per pack is $3.99 + tax if you figure in the RR, but 6.99 + tax if you don't figure in the RR. Usually what you would do is buy 1 per transaction(have to do seperately in order to get an RR for each) and then use your RRs to buy something else that produces RRs. Use the Huggies RRs for the other product and the other product's RRs for the huggies so you are paying less OOP, and still getting RRs for both (rolling RRs).

you buy one package of huggies at $8.99 and use the $2/1 coupon and receive a $3 RR at the checkout to use on your next in store purchase. so you pay 6.99 oop and then get rr.

huggies 8.99
-$2/1
=pay 6.99
get $3 RR

you wouldn’t be able to roll the $3rr for another pack of huggies and still get another $3rr
so the second package would be the same price unless you had another RR (from different deals or something) to lower your oop but then you would need a cheap filler (.20 pencil?) because you can’t use two manufacturer Q's on 1 item

for the $1/1 Q in the activity book i believe its not good on sale items (huggies usually are around $10) so 8.99 would be sale. but im not to sure about the activity book (never actually had one of the Q's in hand) so maybe someone else could tell you more about the $1/1

Thank you for the quick response, and I apologize if I'm doing this wrong...I'm completely new and haven't had a chance to read through all of the rules and such. This is very exciting stuff, but very confusing and overwhelming. Thanks again.

No worries. It is exciting, isn't it?

Walgreens can be a great store to do deals at. They do have a lot of rules that can make it tricky sometimes. Not using the CAB coupons on sale items is one of them, as Mikki said.

There is lots to learn, but it is so worth it, I think. There are lots of us here to help you. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

No problem! I had to run and pick up DS from school, so I'm just now getting back. Feel free to post any questions you have. This is a great forum and we have plenty of people to answer your questions. Have fun! It's the only game you can play that's a win-win every time. Welcome to HCW and the WAG forum.

wow, what a great group of people! Not only is this the best site out there - they have the best people too. I read the newbie question and immediately thought, "ugh, don't they know that already?" - then one after the other - members just willingly shared their information and it brought my own guard down to not be so judgemental myself. Thanks to our MODERATOR and the many knowledgable members so willing to help. I love couponing and afdietrich, you are learning from the best, welcome and enjoy!!!!
