Walgreens - Land of Small Ad-no Bayer Meters week of 31st

I know I saw a thread earlier re: Small Ad... I just spoke with one of the managers at my store - she wouldn't let me have a look-see of next weeks' ad, but she took a look for me (she knows I'm getting my meters at her location now - no sales tax) & told me that Bayer Contour & AccuCheck AREN'T in the ad! Arrgh!!!! :shrug7: I guess I'll have to wait to get my little hands on the Big Ad before I can buy Bayer next week.

Just wondering - the small ads in DE did'nt have the christmas frees after register rewards - for example I bought a touch of gray on clearance in DE for 1.97 and the 7.00 RR printed out.
What is the price of Countour meters regular retail? I purchased one at Rite-aid the other day for 19.99.The price underneath the product was 79.99 but I had them scan it and it came up 19.99( was not on sale in the weekly ad).
I won't be able to get to wags before Thursday night but if the regular retail is now 19.99 instead of 79.99, you can use the up to 30.00 coupon and get it free - but will the 10.00 RR print out?
Just a thought but it was funny how the free RR were not in the christmas sales in DE (small ad) but you still got the RR and no RR were advertised.

Okay - got ahold of the Small-Ad for next week ... yeap, no Bayer or AccuCheck.

RockyGap - same thing happened to me for the Christmas Frees here in Small-Ad Land. But I've discovered a location in SF that offers the frees - they're on the border of BigAd Land and know that customers will deliberately travel to their little neighborhood location for the frees. For the manager - a sale is a sale... And down the block? No frees. And the no-free location was wondering why their sales were lower then the free locations (no-free used to have better sales...)

I'm thinking that if you're in the land of SmallAd w/ no access to the BigAd, it might be worthwhile to use the Bayer Q's now... just a thought... or you can maybe use it at another establishment (RiteAid, CVS) that might offer u a better return .

At least we have the FREEs next week... at this point, I'll take what I can get...

Thanks for letting us know about this. I am glad that the people in the small ad area know about this in time to hopefully do the deal before the 31st.

The regular price of the Contour is over $30, so it won't be free with the coupon. I do think that this would be worth price checking at Wags if you are in the small ad area, but be prepared for it not to work.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this. I was seconds from paying a whopping $30 on fleabay for those stinkin' q's! I can tell all you who are still hopeful the reg. price is in the ballpark of $60- $70..so we're just SOL on this deal...oh well at least we found out ahead of time!

Generally the small ad is like 8 pages vs 16. We in the Small Ad-Land don't get a few of the items that everyone is ga-ga over... i.e. this week, I know we don't have the Reach items on sale at .99. Last week, my ad didn't include AccuCheck. Do you have Reach in your ad this week? if so, you're probably in Big Ad Land. Hope that helps.
