I could not agree more it drives me CRAZY! I HATE the small ads! Its not right!
Ok so this is a vent! I've been couponing for almost a year now and quite aware of the fact that Wags has the two different ads and yet I fall victim to it in one way or another almost every week. It is driving me :hectic1:. I wish....NO I BEG...EMPLORE...PLEAD...upon the good graces of all those in BIG ad areas to PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE make a notation of some sort when whatever your deal is is only available in BIG ad areas. It is so frustrating to not only rarely get a sneak peak at a small ad area scan ahead of time but then to have all the deals posted in one place with (usually) no reference as to wether they're "BA only" (Big Ad only). I don't know if this is possible but I know it would really help us small ad area Waggers out big time!
Specifically this week I'm talking about the Aviva meters. These aren't on sale for $9.99 in the small ad area...so I wasted $ buying q's. Yeah maybe it's all my fault I'm sure b/c I didn't check that closely in the ad first...but as I'm sure others in my area could agree it can all just get so confusing sometimes.
Maybe even a secondary thread with posts for only small ad areas :shrug7:

Hang onto your Aviva q's, maybe your area will have the rr deal the week of the 31st and you can use them then! Sorry- I feel your pain- I get the long ad for Wags, but our region gets the short at for Rite Aid- I have given up on finding deals there until I actually have my hands on the short ad for our area. :(

I think the only solution to your problem is someone in the short ad area, getting their hands on the ads and posting them ahead of time. When someone posts a deal, they are posting according to the ad scan available. They have no way of knowing any more than you do.
I had the same problem with CVS for a while. I live in Nor CA and our ad was consistently different than the national ad. I, like you, would plan all my deals/scenarios and get my Qs together only to be disappointed. I learned in short order that I may or may not get the deals and hoped for the best. Now, the ads look different, but the deals are pretty much the same.
Knowing that you get the short ad, I'm not sure that I would buy coupons counting on getting any deal especially considering that it seems like you've been through this for quite a while now.
That's true, dancinmama. If anyone has a sneak peek of the small ads, we'll be glad to get those posted as well. Sorry for your frustration OP (and others).
Mod for WalgreensLife is not about waiting for the storms to pass....it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
I totally get what you guys are saying but tbh..that's not really my frustration. It seems pretty common knowledge (at least I would think for those with enough know how to post the ads to begin with) that the short ads only have 8 pgs vs. the big ads with 16. My frustration comes in with not posting which ad the deal is from. Especially for those of who look on this site from work (which i'm sure none of us do) and can't always view the ads b/c some sites/downloads can be restricted. Sure, viewing the ad would clearly show us how big it is..but like I said if we can't view it for some reason...as simple acknowledgement somewhere of wether it's the short or long ad would be nice. :shrug7: Maybe I'm just being a whiny baby..sorry

Oh I do love you guys and all you do believe me you have no idea!! I dream about HCW...haaaa
supergirl9801 - I am sooooo with you on the frustation of living in a small ad area, and I THINK I live in a city that's fairly big too (San Francisco), go figure...
This week, I've had to hold off on Accu-Check as well. I just did a price-check at a store in, & it was regular pricee... arrggh!!! I have ONE day (31st) to get some, and that's if it's advertised. Once I get ahold of the Big Ad, I can have them price-match, but I feel funny having them price-match this one... it's like - please price-match @ 9.99, please manual in a q @ 9.99, and finally the D&Y. I'd rather fly under the radar with the scanning.
At this point, if one of the girls at the store gives me a copy of next weeks ad, I know I can start planning... otherwise, I don't even really plan until Sun morning now... no use hoping for something when I might not even be able to get it easily.
dancinmama - r u in SF as well?![]()
I get the small ad as well. My prices are always higher than the lower 48, so I just take every ad with a grain of salt. lol I have found though, that some of the RR deals will work here as well, but often times not with the sale price y'all have down there. Not always, but sometimes. My store also doesn't carry some of the items in the ads. I've just learned to deal with it.
