Default walgreens problems part 2

I was the person who asked for comments on a letter to a Walgreens manager. I elected to not send it, even though I revised it quite a bit using some of the suggestions. After the manager came out to talk to me last Friday, I went in Saturday to buy milk and pizza, Monday for 2 Almay mascaras and 1 pureblend mascara and one pureblend foundation. I did NOT go in Tuesday, but did go in today. This time I was told that I could only do ONE transaction per day with no splitting anything up, per the manager. I asked to talk to him and he came out to talk to me. He said that he has talked to his district manager about me and that he is limiting me to one transaction a day. I finally got him to relent about being able to buy cold products right before I leave town. I asked if I could only buy one of each deal, but do separate transactions and he said no. He said if I continued to argue--and I was NOT arguing or raising my voice--that the next step would be involving the police and arresting me for trespassing. I only have one Walgreens in town and I won't be able to use all the register rewards if I can't split up my transactions. Any good suggestions?

Call Corporate and the District Manager. Good Luck.

i vaguely remember the letter

maybe a call to customer service to speak to the district manager?

i do know that if the manager doesnt want you in their store anymore he can give you a formal notice of trespass (can be verbal depending on the state) or have the police tell you such and you cant go in the store any more...

if you have lots of rr to use, maybe have a friend, neighbor, or husband help you out

I would call corp. and send a certified letter to corp. the dm and to the store. Also find out if anyone else like CVS will match their ad. You could become a butt and round up the neighborhood kids give them each 5 bucks and have them each do a deal a day. I took my 6 kids into walgreens for the candy bar deal a few weeks ago, then looked at the manager as he is counting out 1.16 in nickels and dimes and told him they had came to spend their allowance and it wouldve been easier on him if he would have let me to several transactions for those over 3 days doing 2 day. Now he has told me treats and things i dont have to bring them and he will give the deals just leave the kids at home.

As customers, we are guests in retail establishments.

+

I have around 30 Walgreens within a 10 minute drive so if one gives me grief, I avoid it and shop at the other stores.

Within six months, there is enough turnover to go shopping at 'that store.'

In fact, just like CVS and their ECBs (ExtraCare Buck)s ...

I rotate my shopping trips so that I do not visit one store too often.

this issue is becoming more common that I have reasons to think this is not just at the district level but corporate level. I am sorry it happened to you.

if I may ask, did you have good relations with the SM prior to your being limited to 1 transaction per day? is it being implemented for EVERYONE or do you know if its only you that has been given that rule? If it was me and I know they are implementing it strictly for everyone, I won't feel offended BUT if I learn that the rule is meant for me alone, I'd be embarrassed and weigh things carefully prior to calling corporate. Before I contact corporate, I'd think of all my past tranasctions that may have earned the SM's ire that led to my shopping restrictions. I will probably just skip that store and lay low for a long time until there is change of management of that store. I'd not feel comfortable shopping at a store where they make unreasonable limits to what I buy. They can keep their merchandise and I'll go to other stores.

as to possible kicking you out of the store if you argue with the SM, yes they have all the right to do that since stores are private properties and you can be charged with trespassing if you continue to create "trouble" within the store premises.

Stay calm before you call corporate if you are decided on doing that. Like I said, it is important for you to weigh it carefully because the store can easily pull out all your past transactions via electronic journal reports to build a case against you, if necessary. If you're 100% sure that all your transactions are beyond question, (you did not do multiple b2b in one visit, no stacking of IVCs, used coupons for the exact product, size they were intended, etc) go ahead and contact corporate when you have calmed down. If you're not too sure, your other option is just to skip that store and go to other stores while keeping a low profile lest you become too noticeable if you do multiple transactions and gathering tons of RRs per visit. That is the surest way to get attention especially for couponers who roll their RRs in the same visit from one transaction to another.

OP stated she only has the one Wags, so it's not like she can just change stores. I would be very upset by what the mgr. said "He said that he has talked to his district manager about me". I would call the DM to clarify what has been presented as a one-sided view, and/or Corporate to clarify if there is a "too many" visit concern. Personally I think it's bogus. And doing a few back to back transactions in a day, or stacking IVC coupons with manufac. coupons is not doing something wrong so IMHO no need to weigh that in before calling.

I don't get the "fly under the radar" thing. Buying the RR posted items, and using the RR's is perfectly acceptable, why should any of us have to sneak around about the whole thing when we are doing nothing wrong?

I think the more you complain, especially above the sm's level, the more grief you'll suffer trying to shop at this store. I had a problem with rr not printing (earlier in the year), contacted the cust service (800 #), complaint gets kicked back to the original store, sm already not happy with me, guess what, I get no satisfaction. I quit shopping at Wags for a couple of months (yeah, I'll show them!), but then the deals are too good to pass up. I learned to adapt (use cosmetics to check out, get to know those cashiers, learn to not make mistakes with q's, realize it ain't gonna do much good to make a fuss, etc). Bottom line IMO, you won't win the battle with the store, you're already on their "trouble" list, and if you get to be a big pain, they'll ban you or have you arrested for trespassing. It's rough that you only have the one store, you don't have any other options. Get some help with family, friends, neighbors, to use up your rr's, then follow the request that you only shop once a day. Let this stuff blow over without making any more waves and see what happens down the road. I've found that unless you are rich, powerful or influential, customer service doesn't really care a lot if they lose you as a shopper because in their eyes, you're much more trouble to deal with than any money they'll ever make off you, especially us couponers that get the good deals. Hey, it may not be right, but this ain't a perfect world.
