walgreens November Wags coupons - Cashier and Manager said that it can be applied to only one item?

Hi all,

I purchased 4 One Coat mascaras and used the $4/1 coupon in the November Walgreens coupon book.

The cashier said I could only use one coupon, which I did, and it took off $16. $4 for each item purchased. The cashier then voided the transaction and said she could only use the coupon for one item.

Is this the way it should work? I have always had the wags coupons deduct the coupon amount for each item purchased.

I did not see a limit on the coupon. Was the cashier right? :shrug7:

If the coupons doesn't have any restrictions on it, it sounds like a cashier making up his/her own rules to me. But it looks like the coupon does have some restrictions after all, according to another poster.

NO please read that coupon careful. I had a similar situation. It states only 1 coupon per purchase per customer. Not valid with any other discount...

Could you have done 4 different transactions then, since the wording on the coupon is such?

per customer is the one thing that will prevent that. The ones I went to yesterday were very strict with it saying they wouldn't do it.

Also notice if it's one $4 discount you will not get them FREE

Well boo. Guess some Wags are stricter than others. Most of mine will not even blink at using a coupon like that or even going over limits. One store is very strict about that kind of stuff and I don't even go in there.

every Wags coupon has a "limit", but the registers will always multiply it by however many you buy. I discovered this by accident once.

I had a great cashier tonight. She used to be cranky with me, but now she just rings everything through. Her basic rule is that if it doesn't beep, it's okay. I wasn't able to buy the bonus packs of one coat, but that's okay because I walked out of there with 5 one coats and 1 pure blends, and 4 trial pantene, 3 lubriderms, dulcolax, chapstick for $4.20 OOP (I didn't plan well with fillers) in 3 transactions. Plus, I walked away with $5 more in RR than when I went in. I LOVE WAGS!

I was told the same thing---the coupon would only 'attach" itself to only one of the mascaras. I had 8. So, I asked her to just ring up 4 and let's see what happens. Sure enough, the register took $16 off. The cashier just shrugged and said it went! Afterwards I looked at the IVC Wags coupon and on the bottom it does say limit one per purchase.

Absolutely, no question---the amount of success one has at Wags is in proportion to how flexible the cashier is. No flexibility=no success. :sad:
