Walgreens Overage on Almay mascara!! through 11/7/09

I got 4 more tonight and it was still ringing up bogo. My store restocked it all so I was lucky to get a few more.

Oh how I hit the jackpot tonight. A fully stocked Almay mascara wall with the double packs. I couldnt contain myself. I went the register to make sure they were still ringing bogo. Sure enough they were. I knew I only wanted 8 so that I could get DH's Gillette body wash and deoderant for only tax.

Get to the register the cashier scans all and I add a piece of halloween candy to offset the .04 overage....I give cashier the gillette q that says buy a deoderant get a bodywash free and then hands her the November book with the almay q in it and she says whats this for. I said I bought the one coat mascara. She scans it and it says 32.00 off and the total came to 4 dollars and sum change and she said wait a minute. Oh good grief is what I was thinking. She said it took off too much. I said it took off what is was suppose too its the register (lol to myself). She was confused. I said well I got 8 mascaras and the coupon is for 4.00 off so that is 32.00. But you didnt pay for all 8. I could see where this was heading. She calls the MOD and she is telling him the dreaded words a unknowledgeable person wants to hear. She got 8 mascaras for FREE if she uses the coupons that way. I explained that I did not do anything but give the cashier the coupon which is your coupon and the register did that and I think the register knows whats its doing especially when I am using my coupons in a perfectly legit way and it just beeps and beeps and beeps. We go by the register in that instance. Well the manager says well I dont think you should be allowed to use a coupon on a free item. I said thats okay you can keep it I already have 16 and walked away

Needless to say that that wasnt my regular Wags and I dont think I will be going to that one again

well, i wouldn't have walked away

1. customer is always right
2. its wags policy to give it to the person for the shelf price/ad price
3. they are the ones who put that Q out there and if wags didn't want it to ring up that way, they would have changed it early on at the BEGINNING OF THE WEEK
4. you used what they gave you the ad, the sale and the Q = customer is right

Worked well at 2pm here. Went back around 8pm and no longer ringing BOGO.
