Default Walgreens New policy as of monday?

I went to Walgreens today to get a few things, I had 4 items and 2 mq and 2 RR. My total was still going to be more than $6 after all coupons, the girl says she can't take 2 and I said yes you can because I have 4 products and 4 coupons and she said as of monday they got an email saying only 1 RR per transaction no matter what and that I could do 2 transactions if I wanted to. I said whatever just take the bigger one and do one transaction cause the RR were only a $9 and a $1 so I said it is fine. She then tells me that it is because people buy stuff that gives RRs goes to another store, returns them with no receipt and get a store credit, keep the RRs and then get more stuff with the RRs and store credit. So they are cracking down by only accepting one RR per transaction. Which I can see what she is saying happening but I just think they should not accept anything back without a receipt, no matter what. Anyone else heard this? Are they making this up? It sucks because this was the friendliest store ever....

I was at Wal-Greens yesterday. I have not heard anything about it. I think they should have a reciept to return something IMO.

Why would they let someone return something without a receipt? I understand why Walmart can get away with it but seriously, Walgreens does not do that level of business.

I was just thinking, even if you have a receipt, if you go a week later, they are not going to remember what stuff in that receipt is giving RR necessarily. So eitherway they would be out of money....

Should I call coorporate to find out if this is true or have them set the store straight?

I forgot to add, the store manager told me, but not the cashier, that yes I could use more than 1 RR but he walked away and did not set the cashier and the assistant manager straight, so not sure if he was saying "he would allow me" to use more than one or what, he was busy and I did not push the issue with the assistant manager.

That is crazy. I know at Target, it prints on the receipt the refund amount if you use a q. There is always a few that mess it up for the whole. :shrug7:

Sounds to me like the cashier misunderstood whatever she was told about accepting RR. Maybe a friendly call to the manager letting him know that the cashier & assistant manager wouldn't take more than one, even though he said it was ok will help. Good luck!

Target receipts also note if it was a gift card deal or not. It seems like it would be better to program the registers to print something like that on Wags receipts too.

OMG that's really STUPID. What's the difference if they returned stuff they used 1 RR for or 10. The $$ is still the same. i.e one $5RR + two $2RR + one $1RR or they used one $10RR. I think that's just todays reason for not taking more than one. Maybe they should just can the RR system they have and break it out again when they work out ALL the kinkis. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. JMHO for what it's worth. Oh, by the way I don't agree with returning items purchased with coupons, RR's or ECB's. That's just wrong unless they get paid only what they paid for the stuff in the first place.

If someone uses a .50 q on a $1 item, the store gets that .50 q reimbursed whether or not the person returns the item. So the store does not lose out on that .50 just because the item has been returned. As long as someone is not regularly returning q items, I don't see a problem with it.

At my Wags if you return without a receipt they just look up what the lowest price of the item was in the past 30 days and you get that amount back. And I think they put the amount on a gift card, not in cash.

Yeah, she said it was in the form of a gc. My thing is that eitherway they are out of money. I would NEVER do this but I guess not everyone is honest and they do stuff to ruin it for everyone else.
