Default Walgreens issue: only 1 RR per purchase???

First, I apologize if I am supposed to post this in a particular place: I couldn't find where if I was supposed to.

Yesterday was a VERY FRUSTRATING Wags day for me :( The manager told me it was "the policy" for them to only accept one RR per purchase. I calmly said to him, "may I see the policy" and he replied, "I'll let it go this one time, but just know that IS the policy."

Then after that, my transactions when to puts because my Wags theraflu Q wouldn't scan (scanned up 2 bottles of theraflu and 1 filler and the first q they rang was Wags...it wouldn't take. then I had then void that and tried 2 boxes of powder theraflu, still woudln't take).

I ended up having to leave to go to church, and decided I shouldn't be stuck with the products I bought in the back of my car having overpaid for them, and I wanted to avoid confusion, so I went to a DIFFERENT Wags store to return my items and explained the trouble. They were very nice, and I ended up getting back more $ than I paid because of the MQ's BUT when I got the stuff I wanted to buy there, these nice people also said that the new policy was only 1 RR per purchase. I didn't put up a fight at all there, because they were so nice and I got more $ back than I paid in returns (actually, so much back that after my MQ's I got my small shopping order and still had the $20 I started the day with at the other store). It was a bitter sweet day. I didn't get everything I needed, and now I don't know how to make deal scenarios with only 1 RR per purchase! This is SO confusing to me.

Does anyone have a policy I can print out and take with me to show them that that is not the Walgreens policy? I appreciate all of your help in advance!!

First, we have to clarify. When you say 1 RR per purchase, do you mean per item you have in a transaction or the whole transaction? Usually, when we say purchase, it means one item while multiple items in one order make a transaction.

Most stores have the rule of one RR per transaction but you can have other regular MQs per item you have (that includes the RR). so if they say one RR per purchase, I don't see a problem as long as you have equal or lesser number of coupons for the items you're buying, all your coupons/RRs should go through.

if they limit you to one RR per transaction, that is YMMV. Most stores have that policy now and I've read that when people called corporate, they were told that stores have been given blanket authority to decide on this matter. Your option is to look for stores that allow use of multiple RRs per transaction.

    Good luck with that.
It seems the walgreens "policy" is whatever the manager feels like enforcing that day.
Your best bet is to just keep going to the "couponer-friendly" wags and give them your business... and forget the other store.
Ya can't fight "wags city hall"!

It was per transaction. Thank you for clarifying this. I'm gonna have to try to get WAY more creative with scenarios. Thank you :)

    (what does YMMV mean?)

I have the same problem today. I have 2 $3.00 R/R. I go to nyc wags to buy the Vaseline lotion 6.99 (and get another R/R for 6.99).

First problem. Vaseline is not on display. The clerk tells me to ask for it ast the register.

I get a bag of nut for $1.00. This way I have two items to match the 2 RR.

The cashier gets the Vaseline (it's hidden under the counter) and give her the nuts and 2 RR.

Second problem. She tells me it's only 1 RR per transaction. Last month the same store had no problem taking multiple RR in one transactions.

I told her to cancel the transactions and return my coupon.

At our store you can use more than one per transaction but ONLY if they are from different manufacturers. You can't use two from P&G together for example.

Today was a sucky day... I walked into Wag. to get my freebies. Got to the register I was going to purchase the razor, toothbrush, herbal essence shampoo, and the dentex floss. I had a coupon for the herbal essence for $1.00, $1.00 for the dentex floss, and $2.00 for the razor.
Well, she put in the coupons and then I handed her the RR's well, the $1.00 went through, but the $3 and the $7. beeped. So I got them to take off the razor and give me back my coupon. so it OOP it was $3.30 and got bacl 2-RR's for $2 each. And I have to mail off for the toothbrush RR, becasue the register is not printing the coupon.Oh, I also had a filler but it still would not take the other coupons.. which that sucked.
    Where did I go wrong?

Going to try tonight at another Wag. but this time I'm going to get just the Razor and a filler and try to use the RR first then the MQ coupon. That might work. if not then they can keep it.LOLOL

reading all your experiences, I feel so fortunate. we have coupon friendly stores and most are well stocked on the first day of sale and even on Saturday nights since there are 2 truck days per week now.

Its frustrating that all stores cannot be on the same page regarding policies but I think most policies are based per district. if there are issues you want clarified, it is best to ask the DM that covers the stores you shop at.
