Walgreens RRs not printing at all at my Wags... and RUDENESS!

I guess at least I know to go a bit earlier next time. My fav cashier was getting off work when I got there.

As soon as I walked up to the register though, I knew it was not going to go well. I said to the cashier "I'm shopping for my sister too so I've got to make a few transactions" and she goes "a few WHAT?" like she didn't understand WTH I was talking about. So I give her my first one. It was (IIRC) the Carefree pantiliners, Theraflu, and Secret deodorant. I had Qs for all of those and I was planning on using a $6 and $4 RR so I grabbed some $.45 candy bars as fillers. I had already given her one but wasn't sure if that was enough. It beeped so she tossed it back on the counter and said "no, you can't use that one". I said, sure I can, I made her add another candy bar and then it "magically" worked. I waited for my RRs and none printed. I questioned it and she was like "oh, if you use a coupon or an RR you don't get any back". Obviously I know that is BS because I've been going there at least once a week for like 6 weeks now. So I just think to myself that I'll take it up with Catalina later and I had her ring up my second transaction. It was the Colgate toothbrush, the Zone razor, and the Rembrant. I used no Qs and no RRs. NOTHING printed. So I'm like "ohhh well it looks like its not printing at all... that's why it is". She continued to insist that I didn't get them on the first transaction because of the RRs and Qs. So she calls the manager up and he spends the next 5 minutes staring at my products and the ad while the cashier repeats about 5 times "correct me if I'm wrong, but she shouldn't have got the ones from the first transaction anyway". I explained to the manager that I knew that was NOT true because I come here every single week, early Sunday morning and I always roll my RRs. He just looked at me and said "uh huh". And the cashier is like "yes, but the RRs are for your NEXT purchase, you don't get to use them right away". I'm like "YES, that is why I paid for my first transaction with RRs from LAST WEEK and then I SHOULD have got more RRs that would have paid for my second". She says "no, that's for your NEXT purchase" and I say "CORRECT, and my second transaction WAS my next purchase". -face palm- Finally the manager decides that I definitely was supposed to get the RRs so he starts writing out rain checks. I was confused as to why he would write me a raincheck for RRs so I asked "okay, so what do I do, are we going to do a return on all this stuff and then I can use the rainchecks?" and he's like "noooo, next time you come in, you'll use them and get the items for free, its the best I can do". I was like "okay... so instead of RRs that I can use next week on anything, I have to buy all of these items again...?" He's like "well I can't make the thing print, what do you want to do?". I said "ya know what, I'll just return everything and try again at the other Walgreens". So we did a transaction void on both of them and he's like "I hope we don't have this problem all night". I said yeah, I hope you don't and left.

Anyway, I will never go back in there when that woman is working, that's for sure! She just kept insisting that I was wrong when I KNOW I've used Qs and still got RRs plenty of times and the evidence that they just weren't printing at all was RIGHT IN HER FACE. And the manager was nothing short of condescending. Ugh. I've had time to sleep it off and I'm still pissed.

Sorry you had troubles.....but this just reminds me of why I don't go to Walgreens anymore. Too much hassle!

This is the second post today saying no register rewards printed. Maybe there is some big problem.I was just about to go shopping, but maybe I should wait until tomorrow.
I am very sorry they were so rude to you though. Also the manager should have given you a form to send in to get your rr that didn't print. He should have known that is what you do, not give a rain check. You can also call Catalina directly about it. You might want to talk to the store manager if this was an asst. If it was the sm, speak with the district manager. Managers should know how to handle it when the rr doesn't print, but should have.

RRs are working fine at my store today. I bought all 4 of the RR freebies, used a few coupons, used a $3/$15 RR and a $4 RR - and still got back $14 in RRs. Sorry things didnt go well at your store. Some employees just dont know how their own registers and policies are supposed to work.
