Walgreens: Scenario help/advice please
Walgreens is new to Alaska, so I'm just learning the ropes. I have plotted out my lists(s) and would like any suggestions/revisions to make my OOP lower, if possible. My prices are usually higher than the lower 48, so don't freak out if they're different than yours. lol
RR's that I have are:
$2.00 - Kelloggs cereal
$5.00 - Kelloggs snacks (Keebler, Club crackers, etc)
$3.00 - Reach (McNeil)
$4.00 - Vitamin shampoo (I think..doesn't give MF)
$4.00 - Vitamin shampoo (I think..doesn't give MF)
Total: $18.00
Trans #1:
Glade Reed diffuser approx. $10 - $3mf =$7
Glade Sense and spray $7.99 - $3mf = $4.99
Neosporin (x2) $7.98 - $2mf - $4ivc = $1.98
4 fillers @ approx $2.00
Planters nuts $2.49 - $1mf = $1.49
minus RR's of $7 Kelloggs, $3 Reach and $4 shampoo
Total oop of $3.50 + .08 tax
Trans #2:
Reach toothbrush/floss: 3/$10 - $4mf =$6.00
Special K (x2) $6.00 - $1mf = $5.00
Rice Krispie treat/Keebler cookies (x4) $10.00 - $2mf =$8.00
Listerine Smart Rinse (x2) $10.98 - $5.49 bogo mf - $2ivc = $3.49
4 fillers @ approx $2.00
minus RR's of $7 Glades, $4 Neosporin, and $4 shampoo
Total oop of $7.49 plus .18 tax
Trans $3:
Bandaid (x2) $5.98 - $2.00mf = $3.98
Special K (x2) $6.00 - $1.00mf = $5.00
Colgate enamel $2.99 no coupons = $2.99 (if they have it)
Minus RR of $6 Reach
Total oop of $5.97 plus .14 tax
Trans #4
Pantene (x2) $11 - $2 mf =$9.00
Neosporin (x2) $7.98 - $2.00mf - $4ivc = $1.98
3 fillers at approx $1.50
Minus RR's of $7 Kelloggs and $3 Listerine
Total oop of $2.00 with .05 tax
Trans #5:
Reach (x3) $10.00 -$4.00mf =$6.00
Special K (x2) $6.00 - $1.00mf = $5.00
Rice Krispie treat/Keeebler cookie (x4) $10.00 - $2.00mf = $8.00
4 fillers @ approx. $2.00
Minus RR's of $4 Pantene, $4 Neosporin, $4 Bandaid, and $2.99 Colgate
Total oop of $6.00 with .15 tax
Trans #6
Bandaid (x2) $5.98 - $2.00mf = $3.98
Colgate $2.99 no coupons = $2.99
1 filler at approx. .50 cents
Minus RR of $6 Reach
Total oop of $1.47 with tax of .04
Total overall oop of $26.43 + .64 tax
Remaining RR's:
$2.00 Kelloggs
$2.00 Kelloggs
$5.00 Kelloggs
$4.00 Bandaid
$2.99 Colgate
My store may not have the Colgate, they apparently didn't the other day as was reported by someone else. They have had everything else in stock the last two times I was in, but that doesn't mean anything. Backup items include:
Clean and Clear blackhead eraser, have $3 coupon, don't know shelf price.
Can do more Pantene, but just have $1/2's left
Can do more Reach toothbrush/floss
Can do more Listerine Smart Rinse
Can do more Bandaid
Can do more Kelloggs...if it's Mini Wheats or Special K
Can do more Keebler/Rice Krispie treats
Can do one more Glade Sense and Spray
I only get to go to the store once a week, so I have to do it all at once, which can be frustrating/confusing. I'm trying to have it all written out concisely this time so I can just whip it out. lol Yeah, right.

Re: Walgreens: Scenario help/advice please
Your plan looks like it should work fine (as far as I can tell). Great work! I don't really have any advice for lowering your OOP right now, but I'll see if I can come up with something.
The only thing I noticed is that in Transaction #6 you shouldn't need a filler (unless you want one) since you are only paying with one RR. If you are getting the Colgate Toothpaste without a mfQ, this should count as the filler (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
