Thanks for the info! I always love checking out at the beauty counter because the beauty advisors are always so nice and get excited to see my low OOP and savings! I didn't know that a beauty advisor could be paged to the counter if no one is there! from now on I will be sure to do that! Thanks!

They are not eliminating the BA position or the cosmetics counter.
The % of 15 minute increment transactions is, however, a tracked figure, so checking out in cosmetics is definitely helpful to the store. Most stores have stickers, signs, and anything else they can come up with to ask people to check out in cosmetics. The BA's also will not receive their promotional money from vendors if someone makes their purchase elsewhere. We do not pay our BAs much. A good BA can give themselves a significant raise with their PMs.

For couponers, especially those who use RR, the catalina printer at the cosmetics counter always (no one knows why) does a better job at generating rewards. There is also the significant benefit of shorter lines. Customers and employees both sometimes feel rushed if something goes wrong and a line develops, and this does not usually happen at the cosmetics counter.

The lady at our cosmetics counter is very sour and the only cashier who's ever given me a problem with my RRs. She would only let me pay with one. Then she was just generally unfriendly.

Most BA's I encounter are great. That being said, some are just downright unfriendly and horrible to me. I always check to see who the BA is before deciding whether to check out in cosmetics.

I too love checking out at the beauty counter. It's always so much faster ad easier and the girls there are generally more laid back (most, not all), lol, about coupons!

I use the BA to check out almost exclusively, only time I won't is when I can't find anyone working it.

I try to check out at the beauty counter whenever I can find someone. They are usually more friendly than the clerks up front - possibly because they are more motivated to check people out?

I always try to check out at with the BA. The last time I ran in to get some milk and ice cream, a covergirl ad printed out. I laughed and said...if they think they're gonna get me to buy their product, they should give me a coupon, not just an ad. The BA laughed and then asked what kind of mascara I used. I replied HiP at the moment and she asked if i would use maybelliene. Sure I said! She dug in her magic coupon box and produced a catalina for a free mascara! Yippee!!! I love my BA's!!!

I too love all my BA's! Well, most of them anyways. And i do almost exclusively check out with them unless they're on their lunch break.
