Check out the back to school sales thread in my signature below. I'm not sure I'd pay $1 a pack for those pens. I've gotten a better deal on the G2s and some FAR at Staples.

These are very decent pens!
Very similar to brand name Rolling Writers.
Do not drop them because if the point hits the ground the pen is t-o-a-s-t.
I found these items in the school supply aisle.
+
When you open up the liquid ink roller pens, they do not tell you this, but that is a very small cover on the tip of the pen that has to be removed with your finger / fingernail.
+
Q) 0.7 mm vs medium point?
When all is said and done, I cannot tell a difference.
+
These will sell out fast ...
If your Walgreens is sold out, ask for a raincheck.

A deal is not a deal if the item is sold out and / or they will not issue you a raincheck.
+
Staples ... you gotta get there the first hour / day or you are out-of-luck.
Walgreens ... a couple of nearby Walgreens post signs on RR items stating 'nooooo raincheck on this puppy.'
Q) Say what?

thanks ill look for them tomorrow... they will be gone probably..so ill remember to ask for a r/c....
staples must be different in different areas, which all stores are i guess. i went on tuesday last week and they had tons of the far and sale stuff left. i was even able to get extras of the expo markers since i work in preschool. i only got 6, but they still had a bunch left. we thought they were out of some things, but a quick chat with an employee who asked if we were finding everything and he brought more out of the back.
I agree that Staples must be different. There are three stores around here that I shop at and they all had stuff in stock last Wednesday when I went in. Staples it the only office supply store around here that has plenty of the sale items in stock. I'm a teacher and can get a limit of 25 at staples and have never had an issue getting that many.
Q) You have never arrived at a Staples only to find a rebate item out-of-stock?
+
Many (most) advertised Staples' rebate items will have fine print stating:
"Limited quantities."
It their way of stating 'No rainchecks.'
(It would be too difficult for them to state: 'No rainchecks' in their ads)..
+
Let us call a duck a duck ...
Staples' FAR (Free After Rebate) items are lost leaders.
They are sacrificial lambs used to get customers into the stores.

the way i took your title was that it was 4 packs of pens for $1. confusing.
I took it the same way. I actually read and re-read the whole thread 3 times and didn't get it. I said, "I don't see the deal" and left the thread. Didn't "get it" til I cam back a 4th time and read your post.
She wasn't the only person who didn't get your "math". Maybe you should have been a little more specific in your title and post. I spent umpteen minutes trying to read thru your super large font and strange + marks to TRY to find where a Q came in to play, but never found anything. Breaking it down into item per package without showing the deal is just super confusing (especially to anyone who might be a newbie.)
Please explain yourself better next time.
