using 2 mfg on a b1g1 is a YMMV, there is no official policy on it. Some stores will allow it, others won't.

Am I the only one who thinks this is not crystal clear? I am not sure this completely explains what to do if the coupon value exceeds the price of the item.
I think some managers might misinterpret. They may say that the policy does not tell them to actually adjust the value of the coupon, it just says the coupon shall be the retail value.
They might just say that if the coupon is not retail value or less, they can't take it.
Kind of convoluted, but that is the kind of thinking I run across sometimes.

Yeah, I agree with you. When I read this after it was posted my first thought was does this mean to adjust the coupon value? I guess the kicker that means they adjust is the first part that says "If the retail of the item is less than the face value of the coupon:". Seems like using the words 'adjusted to' inserted between 'be' and 'the' in the second part would have helped tremendously. My next question would be the tax part. Are they saying to adjust the coupon to the value of the item including tax? Otherwise it doesn't make sense, why have separate statements.

Question about a transaction today. I intended to make a purchase for the spend $15 get $5 RR for the Irish spring/Soft Soap. I had 2 Irish Spring ($7), 2 Soft Soap ($4) and 2 Colgate. the colgate is my problem. Sale price was $3 each, so my total would have been $17. Colgate was priced at $1.99 at my store, leaving my total at $14.98. I didn't notice till after I got home since it was my last transaction and I am new to all this.

I used the $2/1 and $1/1 coupons for 5 of the 6 items.
Anyway, is the only way to rectify this to bring the items back, return them then rebuy with an additional tube of toothpaste to put me over? Does Walgreens have a way to do that without the items since I intend to rebuy?

You would need to bring the items back to do a return/rebuy. It would save you a return trip, anyway, so just take the items with you.
