hmm...not sure i understand your math. at either store you pay $0 oop. at CVS,, you get $5 ECB plus MIR and at wags you get $10RR plus MIR, so i would say $20MM at wags and only $15MM at CVS.
So, like everyone else I have been trying to cash in on the $10RR for the meters last week. I went to the store several days and everyday they told me they were out, 'but we should get some tomorrow on the truck'. I gave them my name and phone # and asked to be called if they came in, and asked one to be held for me. (I only have one precious coupon left)
Finally, Friday evening comes and still no meter. I ask to speak to the mgr. who turns out to be very nice. He tells me that he can only give me a RC for the sale price not the RR. I ask about a $10 GC. He says no go because the MFR actually pays them for the RR, but not the gift card, so he's losing money. He's trying to point out to me that the MIR is still valid and I'll get it for free anyway. I told him I understand that, but I'd rather have to RR to spend here at your fine establishment, blah, blah, blah.
I told him I had been promised these meters all week, and the problem is not the deal, because I'd get that same deal IF he had the meters in stock. THe issue is what do you do when you have no stock and the deal is about to run out. I asked him if he thought I should go home and call the corporate office to see how they thought we could resolve this, because I'm sure it will come up again in the future.
He goes into his office for a few minutes. He comes back out and tells me that what he will do is create a RR for me, but not give it to me until they get some of the meters in. He took my name and # (again) and gave me a RC for the sale price. He said if it gets down to the point that the RR are about to expire and he still doesn't have a meter, we will do something else.
I thought that was a very fair solution. I'm sorry to write such a long post, but I thought maybe someone else could try this approach with their mgrs. when this situation arises.
Now I have a question. Since I only have one coupon left, should I use is at CVS this week to get 5 ecb's and get the $10 MIR and $10RR? It seems like I would be making $15 instead of $10 right?

I hate to burst your bubble, but you probably won't get the MIR if you use a coupon. The glucose monitor companies typically deny them for that reason.
I can't be done shopping, I still have coupons left!!!
That's what I meant to say. After re-reading my post, it didn't make any sense to me either
My question was, since I only have one coupon, should I:
Use it at CVS and pay $0 OOP and get 5ecb's, then buy the one at Walgreens without the coupon paying $10 OOP, get the $10 RR and the $10 MIR =$15MM
Or just do the Wags deal, use the coupon there, pay $0 OOP and get $10 RR with no MIR. = $10MM
Just wondering what y'all prefer. To pay $0 OOP, or get an extra $5, but wait on the MIR?
OP - I think that sounds like a fair solution. Hopefully they get some in before the RR expires. Also, if you end up using the meter coupon at CVS, will you still purchase the one from WAGS when they call you that it came in?
I have in the past used a coupon on a meter and did the MIR and only received back the difference after the coupon was applied.
JMHO, I'd stick with Walgreens. Otherwise, you'll be burning your bridges with that SM. You've already made the deal with him. If you use your Q at CVS, then you'll have to pay oop for the one at WAG or risk a bad relationship with this particular SM.
Mod for WalgreensLife is not about waiting for the storms to pass....it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
I would buy the one at CVS, get the $5 ecb's and send in for the $10 MIR. Then use your coupon at Wags, get the meter for free and $10 cat. That would make $25 total. We don't have CVS here so I am basing this on your posts. hth

This best desribes my story of shopping at stores these days.
Here's what I'd do.
Go to CVS and use your coupon for a free meter and get the $5 ECB because, to paraphrase a famous adage, a $5 ECB in the hand is worth more than a $10 RR in the bush.
Then, if the meter does come in at Walgreens, pay the full $10 in cash or credit card for the meter making sure that the manager makes good on his promise that he has that pre-printed $10 RR all ready for you. (If he doesn't produce that RR up front, don't do the deal.)
Then, use the receipt from Walgreens for the rebate. The Walgreens receipt will show that you paid $10 in cash/credit (i.e. no coupons) for the meter and therefore you will in fact get the $10 rebate. (Whereas your CVS receipt will show that you used a coupon to get the meter for free so the rebate will be denied.) So now, after rebate, you will have paid $0.00 for the 2 meters and have a $10 RR and a $5 ECB.
I think this is the best solution because if Walgreens warehouse is out-of-stock on the meters for the next 2 weeks (and there is good chance they will be after last weeks deal) then they may not get any in on time in which case the manager's pre-printed RR is useless (expired) and then it will be too late to do the $5 ECB deal at CVS. So you'll end up with nothing. But if the Walgreens meter does come in on time at least you will still be on good terms with the manager and you will get the $10 you pay in cash for the meter back with the rebate and of course you will get the $10 RR too.
There is a meter deal at CVS this week too??
