Walgreens ban deo question

I just got back from Walgreens and had trouble with manager taking the ban coupon from the Kmart beauty book. Coupon does not state that it is redeemable only at Kmart only a Kmart logo. Should I have tried not to use this coupon? :shrug7: Thanks.

this is a YMMV, my walgreens wouldnt take a coupon for scotch tape from publix several months back so I dont even bother with them anymore if they have a logo on them :( but if you have the insert coupons(I forget what week but it is listed in the database) it is a good deal - my coupons were .40 off any or .75 off the solid so .25 or .60 a piece. not sure what the value was for the kmart one cause I dont have them. but hurry the insert qs expire today 5/31

I used the Kmart logo coupons yesterday at two different Walgreens.

The first time, the beauty counter cashier said, "you can't use this, it's a Kmart Q". I told her it didn't say "redeemable only at Kmart." She said "But it has their logo on it. You've seen coupons that say Target Coupon that come out in the paper, this is just like that." I told her the Target coupons say redeemable only at Target and that this one didn't have that wording, it was in a book put out by Kmart that had a bunch of manufacturer's coupons as well as some that said "redeemable only at" on them. She says "well if you got it at Kmart, it's a Kmart coupon." I said, "no, I can pick up coupons here and use them at Kmart and vice versa, as long as it doesn't say redeemable only at. A manufacturer coupon is good anywhere, no matter where you get it."

She called to the manager who was walking past. He says "did it scan." She said, "I didn't try." He says (after reading over the Q and agreeing with me that it isn't a K only q) "if it scans, and the product is being bought, I don't care where it came from." She scanned it, it went thru with no problem. Then the $2 Cutter q from the paper wouldn't scan, so he entered it manually. After the transaction was paid for and the RRs started printing, he said "you did really good today. It's almost like paying you to shop here." I smiled and said, "I know, great isn't it."

At the second Walgreens, the cashier must have been on autopilot, because he didn't look at the q at all, just scanned it.

I also went to the beauty counter with my daughter and the cashier said this is a K mart coupon and I said no it is a manufacturer's coupon. My daughter says what's a MQ and I said a coupon that any store will take. The cashier scanned it and didn't say anything else. I don't understand why the cashiers seem to hate it when you save money. I am doing nothing illegal and I am not taking away from their salaries. I understand it takes a few more minutes to scan the coupons, but they never seem to be very busy at my store.
