That's good news! CVS hasn't been that great lately.

This was just announced to me by a couponing friend of mine today:
Starting in July Walgreens is rolling out a whole new rewards program and getting rid of the RRs. I just about jumped for joy as he told me that they would be doing a program similar to CVS with a rewards card and EVERYTHING! He even assured me it was supposed to be better than CVS...
That's good news! CVS hasn't been that great lately.

I don't have a CVS in my area...what is their program like? Sounds exciting...
I'm not sure how CVS works. My concern is, will you be able to go more than once a week to buy the "same" items that offer points, etc. or does their point card recognize that you have already purchased this product and not give you rewards for buying more than one if there was a limit on one per purchase?
I suspect the card would restrict the number of times you do a particular deal, particularly the really good deals. There are good and bad things about that. The bad is that you can't get 100 free widgets. The good is that the person who arrives at the store 15 minutes before you can't get 100 free widgets. I only have one store in my area so a single person can destroy my chances of getting any.
I can't be done shopping, I still have coupons left!!!
I like the idea, I just hope the rewards don't expire within one week like the current RRs do. I like that CVS's ECBs last for 30 days which gives you time to use them. And they roll. Let's hope that Wags new program will roll too.
I don't shop Walgreens (actually Happy Harry's here) because of the expiration dates. Drives me nuts having to try and use them when some weeks there isn't anything to go back for. I am a Rite Aid shopper just because I love the SCR system.
No CVS near me so I am not super familiar with how that works but I can't wait to see Walgreens new program!!
If this program is decent enough, I might just start up Wags again. RRs and coupons in general are such a PITA with the employees here. I quit them months ago.
so....can you give us some details at all?
Amy S ...sometimes I can spell funny. It has to do with my disability from my service in the US Marines...
Woo-hoo! That would be awesome!
