would it be ok for me to try using this coupon on baby wash/lotion??
(waiting on a sale of course, but I was wondering...) course it would be ok if my cashier told me no, I would understand since it is a really vague coupon(IMO) | This is from an Admin. announcement a while ago concerning these Qs:
There has been a bit of confusion, once again, about the wording of a coupon and I have been asked to look into it and make a determination about about the proper usage of this coupon.
The confusion lies in if the recent Blinkie coupon for Johnson & Johnson (J&J) is allowed to be used on ANY J&J product or if it is to be used only on J&J First Aid products.
The wording on the coupon reads "Save $3.00 Off Any TWO Johnson & Johnson Product" and while there is pictures of J&J First Aid products on the coupon and the use of the "Red Cross" J&J First Aid logo the wording and fine print of this coupon does not say that it is to be used ONLY on J&J First Aid products.
I have also looked at the wording of other J&J coupons from inserts and other sources and have seen most of them, when there are exclusions about what products can or cannot be used for the coupon the coupons have all clearly spelled out any restrictions.
So I am going to go ahead and say that this coupon can be used on ANY Johnson & Johnson product per the wording on the coupon. Of course if you feel otherwise that this coupon should only be used on First Aid products from the J&J line, use your own best judgment. And of course your stores may put other limits on the use of this coupon based on how THEY determine the use of this coupon.

Here's what I just did. I bought four packs of Band Aids totalling $10, used two $3/2 MQ and got a $4 RR back which made them effectively free (with tax). I then bought two of the J & J Softlotions that are on sale 2/$7. I used a $3/2 MQ and the $4 RR from the prior transaction. I needed a small filler ($.39 candy bar), but it went through just fine. I would assume that if it could be used on the Softlotion and Softwash, it would be ok for the baby stuff, but of course YMMV in that you may run into that cashier who won't even try it.
Which brings me to an entirely different ethical dilemma. I didn't think of this until I was on the way home, but it is ok, isn't it, to use a RR on the same product line as long as you're not expecting another RR from that same product line? I used the J & J RR from the Band Aids on the J & J lotion and just assumed it would be ok since the RRs are "off your next shopping order" and don't exclude anything other than the usual tobacco, alcohol, etc. I know RRs are manufacturer coupons, but am unsure whether it's wrong to use it with any other type of manufacturer coupon since the rules regarding their usage is different. I mean, with most coupons, you have to use them on the product specified, not anything but that product, so it's a little confusing to me. If I screwed up, please consider the above transaction purely hypothetical (blush) and don't do it! I've gotten into trouble before when something worked, but apparently wasn't supposed to. My friend wants to do this and I've asked her to wait until I get some sort of clarification. Go figure I didn't think of it until later. I may be a dunderhead, but I'm an honest dunderhead! |

I haven't done the J&J yet, so I don't have the wording, but I haven't seen a RR with that wording, except for P&G. HTH.

I used them a couple of weeks ago for a Band Aid deal at Rite Aid with no problem, but a friend ran into problems when she tried to use hers because of that whole "not what's pictured" thing. I used them for the Band Aid antiseptic wash, but hadn't even considered shampoo and such. Huh. That just broadened my horizon.
I'm just wondering if others are having problems with this deal or if it's mostly going through fine. There's no reason they shouldn't take these coupons since it clearly says any two and there's no wording that limits that to just first aid products as pictured. | I just did the band aid deal twice yesterday using 2 - $3 off 2 blinkies....no problem at all. I also went back to Publix last night and got more of the kids band aids ($1.99) and buddie soaps ($1.09). Cost me 8 cents for the two using the $3 off 2 blinkie.
I have loads of band aids and other J&J products using these blinkies. I donate alot of it to the Respite Center where my mom goes. They are part of Council on Aging and love stuff like this for Bingo. :smile77:

I just want to add this observation for anybody who is on the fence about the proper usage of this coupon. Even though the wording on the $3/2 J&J blinkies technically does say that it can be used on any two J&J products, the UPC barcode on the coupon is coded only for J&J's family of Red Cross First Aid products. If you compare the UPC on the blinkie to other $3/2 coupons that explicitly restrict the coupon to J&J Red Cross First Aid products, you will see that the first barcode (the one that is scanned) is the same. J&J does put out coupons specifically for Band-Aids and its line of body care products (these coupons have different product family codes). Granted, these coupons are of a lower denomination, but plenty of couponers have been able to get free or cheap deals using them. Some people might argue that these blinkies "work" fine for other J&J products, but, because of the way coupons are coded, a lot of them will actually "work" in situations other than they were intended. Personally, when I'm not sure about a coupon, I just don't use it. There are always other sales and other deals to be had, and I could never enjoy something I got using a coupon I wasn't sure about anyway so there's my two cents. |

| Re: CURRENT-Walgreens Ad 5/17-5/23 (Full Ad Scans) Whether or not you agree with the wording on these particular coupons, Admin. has made their decision about POSTING about using them on their site.
It is up to each member as to whether or not you use these (poorly worded) coupon on "any" J&J product or on the First Aid products.
Now, please........
