I JUST came back from Walgreens ( 4 transactions with RR from nivea and got2b) ad cashier did not do that.
I was informed today that this was a new procedure. It took FOREVER to check out. I just had one transaction, but had everything, so after I had paid, the cashier, at the instruction of the manager, wrote "Received $5 Register Reward" , "Recieved $6 Register Reward," etc. 5 times for the 5 RR's that I got directly on my receipt. It took FOREVER. He said it was "brand new policy as of today from corporate"
anyone else encounter this? It's a very q friendly store and the manager's great

I had a feeling... it was so annoying and will make me not shop at that WAGS now if that's how they're going to do things - it was so time consuming
Maybe they should order a rubber stamp?
It sounds like a store/district thing. Maybe they've had problems with people earning RR's and then returning the items?
thanks guys, that's what I suspected... just so frustrating to not have a uniform policy... and I certainly won't be going there if that's their new one... my time's valuable and I can't wait while they write down "received register reward" 5 times, lol
They might be doing that in your area because some people will buy RR stuff and try to return it for cash or store credit in the full retail amount at a later date.
But I haven't heard of that around here. I have heard that some day they're going to try and incorporate a character or something on the receipt that will state if a RR was printed or received for buying a certain item, to prevent scamming.
None of my cashiers have ever done that, but I can certainly see why stores would. I know it would be time consuming, but I'd rather spend a little bit more time checking out than for Wags to stop their deals because people were scamming the system. Although I agree that a stamp or something would be much better than handwriting everything.
My closest (and favorite) store started doing this about 1 month ago. Today they have large signs up stating that anyone paying with a RR will forfeit the RR value used if they return an item for a refund. They just write rec'd X RR on the top. Next time I go back and the afternoon manager is there I will ask about it.
They also put up signs stating you can not use an RR to purchase another of the same product and get another RR.
I never met a coupon I did not like.
When I went in on Sun. to get Nivea, Listerine and Rembrandt my cashier did not hand me my receipt. I found it in my bag and it had a pen line drawn through the receipt. That was the only time and it hasn't happened since. At first I thought I was being paranoid then i saw this post.
