Walgreens Was the cashier wrong? Or new rule?

I do think it would be Catalina who could answer this for sure. I believe employees make things up by what they "think". Since it is true that one will not print if you pay with one from the same promotion, I think this is why they say that. They don't understand about it being ok to pay with other rr's and they know it happens sometimes.
The other day I had an issue with a rr not printing. The manager right away said it was because I used coupons that made the item free. On the same receipt, I had another free item with coupon. I pointed out that it had triggered the rr despite using a free coupon. Had that not been there on the same receipt, I would have been stuck with being told it would not print due to free coupons. The manager just gave me a $1 in cash instead of figuring out why it did not print. I was fine with that.

My friends daughter use to work at walgreens and every time I go in there and the cashier says it won't happen. she told me it's because the machine will do it randomly even if the item does have the rr on it, that every once in awhile it won't print it out. and even though they do the rr it's annoying to deal with, that's why at the one she worked at the cashiers and manager would make such a big deal out of using them, I stopped going there after she quit and found a much nicer one a couple blocks away:)

i was at walgreens earlier and the cashier tells me she has been with walgreens 11 years and you do NOT EVER get RR if you PAY with ANY other RR. she looked rather betrayed when the RR printed.

I have around 10 Walgreens that I go to and the experience certainly VARIES. Today i used 5 different RRs (plus Q's and small fillers) and still recieved 4 RRs back for a total of $17 back. Some walgreens claim that the RR won't print if an RR is used, some Wags claim that you can only redeem 1 or 2 RRs per order, but NONE of this is true. The amount of RRs ( and Q's) you can use in a transaction can equal the total amount of items that you purchase.

Example: Buy 5 items, use 2 Q's and 3 RR's...or 4 Q's and 1 RR...etc...
Today I bought 22 items, had 17 Q's and used 5 RR's

I went to 3 Wags today (St. Pete, Fl). 1st transaction I used 2 rr, bought Nivea & 4 little bags of m & m's. No problems at all. Got to the next wags and tried using a $5.00 rr from last week on Nivea and the cashier told me the rr would not print if I used the one from last week. Ok, I paid cash grrrr. Third Wags, I had to do 3 diff. transactions as the cashier would only take 1 rr. I was fuming. At each store I got 1 of the contour meters for free w/$5.00 plus 1 nivea x $4.99.

How....am I going to spend these if I can only use one at a time??????? before they expire! I've got like $25 in RR.

I've been out of the HCW loop a couple weeks now while my mother is visiting. Am I missing an important post on wags rule changes?
