Walgreens Mgr.. so confused!! Grrr..!!!!

Ok, I sent hubby in there to grab a quick chapstick and then roll that over to get an adge shave gel and here is what the manager told him.
"You cannot use the chapstick rr to buy the edge if you are wanting another rr. And hubby was like hmmm?? So at that store, he bought the chapstick, got the 2RR. Then he made another transaction for the edge, and use the 2rr and NO reward printed out??? The manager then went on to say that you CANNOT EVER USE A RR TO BUY SOMETHING ELSE AND THEN GET ANOTHER RR?? Am I like totally lost? Because I went into wags on monday and did the deal myself and it worked out just great. Am I losing it here or what? I mean I understand that you cant use the 2RR from the chapstick to then go buy another chapstick and get another 2 RR.. cause we'd all leave with 200 chapsticks then. I understand that much. But this was two different things, from 2 different companies. He is in an up-ity city so Im sure the manager just has a problem with couponers.. GRRRR!!! NOw my hubby is flaming...!! I am going to call that manager and see what he has to say to me.


UPDATE!!!! I had hubby give me the number on his receipt and I called and asked to talk to the manager. Hubby was steamed at me cause it was such a 'bother' to him and he was saying no way is he going back in to fight for my RR. He was not happy I made him go in anyhow.The manager at first said "OH, I bet I know what this is about... so already I was hot from that comment.. its like oh I'm sorry to bother you at your JOB! At the place I have bought diapers from for the last 4 years for full price (rats!!) . Anyway.. I explained to him and he said as far as he knew you could NEVER use an existing RR to pay for something and expect a new RR to print. I tried to be nice and explain that I understood you couldnt use a RR to then buy the same product with that RR and expect another RR. I said something to the effect of blah blah, corporate policy...and that I already did the same transaction this week..corporate policy.. and all of a sudden he was like oh he will gladly issue a 3RR. So I sent hubby back in there to get the 3RR and hubby told me that the manager told him to tell me that I WAS RIGHT!!! LOL!! I was so glad he told that to my dh who then had no right to be steamed at me, and even DROVE DOWN THE ROAD 2 MILES TO ANOTHER WAGS AND DID THE TRANSACTION AGAIN WITH THOSE 3RR!! LOL
It was amazing. Maybe he was new.. because I am for sure a newbie to this wags thing but even I knew that rule.
Anyway.. thanks to all for listening to me rant earlier..what can i say.. women, 1

What kind of Edge did he get? Up through yesterday, all the Edge were printing RRs, but sometime either last night or this morning, it sounds like they changed it and now only certain kinds (on megasaver for $2.99 at my store) are printing the RR.

He got the one for 2.99 that had the rr tag right underneath it. Even if he wasnt getting the right one, I just think what the manager said about never using ANY RR to pay for something to be able get another RR is just not right?

It was a catalina error and the manager used it to justify his idea of how things work.

Or it was your error that you purchased the wrong kind. I believe the RR is for the "new look" bottles.

Or I have no idea what I am talking about. Good luck!

I agree with PP! Either there was a Catalina error (machine wasn't on or ???) or the wrong Edge was purchased (if it was with the sign, maybe an employee put the sign with the "old" bottles, or maybe a customer put an "old" bottle down and took the "new" bottle instead, after seeing the sign).

Yesterday, I used 2 Chapstick RRs to pay for Edge (using a filler, too). Then I used a Pepsi RR and the Edge RR to pay for a chapstick and another unrelated item. I got both of my new RRs.

So on a serious note...you are right and it is suppose to print the RR don't know what happened at that time but I would call the CAT company to see if they can send you something snail mail or just go back to store return everything and do it again the same way and guess what "I BET THE RR WILL PRINT THIS TIME". It was probably a glitch. I been rolling these all week and no problems. HTH:smile77:

I had my BA cashier tell me the same thing today. I wanted to use the shave gel RR to pay for the chapstick, and she said no chapstick RR would print. I told her since they are two seperate companies that it would, but she said it's only been those two this week. She said she had a few people do it and not receive an RR. The cat machine was working, and I was using the Quaker RR to pay for shave gel, so it wasn't her just saying I couldn't EVER use an RR to pay and get a new one. So idk...I ended up not trying it and just paying for the chapstick oop, since I needed it. But it doesn't make sense to me at all why it wouldn't work.

I swear that all of the cashiers must have gotten some memo saying that when customers use a RR to pay they will not get another RR. A cashier said that "we were told this is the case" .... I told her to try my transaction anyways and low and behold the RR printed.

She just looked at me funny and said "oh.... weird."

I was just at Walgreens and the RR tag was under the ones on the shelf that was not part of the RR. I think they are trying to confuse us!

Maybe something IS happening. This a.m..used a $2 chapstick RR for the Edge..no RR for Edge printed.

I thought it was just cause I bought a clearance Edge.

5 minutes ago I bought napkins, mentos, etc and a chapstick. Used a $1 P&G rr..No chapstick rr printed. Had to return it. The cashier even said, mmm the green light is on.

Wouldn't it be HORRIBLE if they are fixing it so you can't use a RR - ANY RR and another print? I don't want to cause pandomonium (sp?) but what IF?
